I have been holding off writing this post as it makes it more real but time is ticking past and an update is needed now my clients are aware.
It is with great sadness I have decided to close the walking side of my business. There are many factors contributing to this decision- the god awful winter has well and truly beaten me this year with how wet it’s been, it’s mentally and physically exhausted me, but also the increase in temperature over the summer months too, self employment in this financial climate is so tricky to negotiate, not having a set wage, late payments/ chasing for money has made budgeting incredibly stressful and taken its toll on us as a family & quite simply I’m exhausted of many aspects of running my own business and all the admin that goes with it, increasing van costs and juggling the hustle and bustle of being a mum to our two little people. It’s all become too much and I have decided it’s time for me to make this huge change, to put my family first but also to look after myself. To take this leap and to go for a career change that is term time only.
Back in January my husband changed his job benefiting financially for us as a family. We have never had a big support network for childcare so school holidays are becoming increasingly difficult to cover but also equally want to make sure we get family time together is just as important. After being successful in an interview beginning of March, I have been offered a role of a teaching assistant at Lily’s school a few minutes walk from home!
I need to take time to focus on being a mum but also to get financial security back and to take the pressure off of us as a family unit. It’s time for me to throw myself into the unknown, learn new skills and start a new adventure/ new career!
These past NINE years have been INCREDIBLE!
To my clients,
I thank you! I thank you for the support, trusting me and welcoming me into your families! I am going to miss each and every one of you and my heart hurts knowing in a few weeks I’ll be walking my last walks with your furbabies. Without you these last 9 years wouldn’t have been possible! So from the bottom of my heart I thank you!
👀 I will be renewing my boarding licence in April and keeping insurance. So I will be still offering boarding over school holidays and weekends!! Cat visits and pet visits will also be staying as I can do these around my new job!
Susan (mum) will be taking over where she can (everyone has been contacted regarding this) and I’d like to apologise to anyone she hasn’t been able to take on due to being out of area or no space.
My last day will be Friday 5th April. Please understand this hasn’t been an easy decision and of course I’m sad and heartbroken but I’ll do my best to keep smiling to the end with minimal tears.
I’m so so so proud of myself for what I’ve achieved and the service I have provided over the years! Getting the business through covid was the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.
I hope that you all understand my decision and I can only apologise for letting you down.
