🐏🐏🐏RAM FERTILITY TESTING🐏🐏🐏
We recommend testing all rams intended for breeding about 6-8 weeks before the start of the breeding season.
Semen samples are taken and checked under a microscope at the surgery, giving immediate results.
Checking your rams fertility will save time and money and improve overall fertility.

W have had two fatal cases of tetanus in the past week.
Please ensure your horses are protected by annual vaccination.
*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣The symptoms of tetanus can mimic colic and are easily recognised*️⃣*️⃣*️⃣
These include
⚠️History of wound
⚠️Muscle stiffness (locking jaw, rocking horse stance, unable to eat)
⚠️seizures/colic signs
⚠️Third eyelid protrusion
⚠️Horses with tetanus become neurological quicker due to toxin and disease is usually fatal despite attempts at treatment.

Merger of Small Animal Services with Campsie Veterinary Centre
Over the last year, we have been working with our sister practice- Campsie Veterinary Centre in Omagh.
We are concerned that it is difficult to offer the level of service we want for our small animal clients.
For this reason and after careful consideration, we have taken the tough decision to move our small animal services and then merge them with Campsie Veterinary Centre as from 1st July 2023.
This does not affect our farm and equine veterinary services, which will remain at Strule.

🥰Attack of the cockapoo puppies 🥰 These three brothers are Reggie, Stanley and Benji, they are an absalute delight each time they come through our doors. They called in with their 'Pawrents' today to collect their monthly worming and flea treatments. These three boys are full of character and badness and we just love them💙
‼️EAR MITES‼️ Ear mites are very common amongst pets, they are creatures that resemble tiny spiders and they live in your pet’s ear. How can my pet pick these up? Environment can be one way for ear mites to develop in your pets ear. Often they attach to your furry friend when they pass through areas of woodland and grass. They are also passable from one pet to another but owners do not need to worry about catching them - most commonly ear mites can only be transferred between cats, dogs and ferrets. Symptoms of ear mites to be aware of👀: - Strong odor coming from the ears - Black or brown waxy secretions from the ears - Inflammation of the ear, including redness and the ear becoming hot to the touch - Excessively itching, scratching or rubbing of her ears - Shaking of head Below is a clip of some ear mites our vet Catriona found on a little dog who came to visit the practice🐶 If you have any questions or concerns regarding ear mites and your pet, please contact the surgery and we will be happy to help🐾

5 girls and 2 boys were born by Caesarian section in our Omagh clinic last night. 💙 Vets Kim, Pat and Payient Care Assistant Ami worked speedily to help mummy and she and her pups are doing well. #bestjobever #strulevets
