It is show time! The weather looks good, those pesky temporary traffic lights have gone, and we are getting ready for the big day. Angharad and Steph are already there and are setting up our stand. Harry is also already on site, checking all the chickens and other birds. Nerys will be grooming her horse, and checking her tack. Photos and more team updates to follow. We are delighted to sponsor the show and hope to see you there.

NOW SAFELY HOME! Thanks everyone for sharing. Farm dog. She was found in Llanddeiniol today, picked up by dog warden, and taken down in Llandysul pound. She is a smiley dog, but would be much happier back on the farm. Please share so her owners know where she can be found.

We had a very unusual emergency yesterday when Beau the dog was impaled on a stick. Beau's owner, Emma, described what happened.
" Beau, our 2 year old huntaway, was injured whilst running through Talybont woods, one of his favourite places. He was impaled by a branch that had been partially snapped off and was sticking up from a log on the side of the trail when he ran into it at speed. The branch punctured his chest and went in around 5 inches along his ribs.
We rushed him to Ystwyth Vets and their prompt action meant that he was able to have surgery within hours of the incident. Thanks to the hard work of their team the branch was successfully removed and he is now recovering at home with us. We can’t thank the team enough for their hard work and compassion looking after our boy, it’s scary to think how easily this story could’ve had a much more devastating ending.
Please be careful with your dogs if you take them walking or running in thick woodland and if you see any branches that need to be cut make sure they are cut off at the base so that no sharp ends are left to potentially hurt someone else’s dog in an accident like this"
We are super proud of Holly, Eva, Juliette, Glesni W, Nerys and Hannah for helping Beau when he needed it most. It had just gone closing time and staff volunteered to stay back to support the on- call team. We are sure Beau will make a full recovery and have many more speedy (and safe) runs with Emma in the future. We look forward to more updates from the pair.

We are on TV tonight (Thur 21st Dec) : S4C at 9pm. In a brand new series, Ystwyth Fets is busier than ever treating the sick animals of Ceredigion. This time: Pico the young spaniel has come a very long way since being fostered from Cyprus. Bess and Gel need some help from Nerys the nurse as they prepare for the Cardiganshire Corgi dog show, and it's a busy time for Dafydd as the Head Vet of the Winter Fair.
You don't need to be fluent in Welsh to enjoy this heart warming series. Snuggle up on the sofa and watch Dafydd, Nerys and our fabulous team.
Let us know what you think!
