Can you please this post far and wide?

Olaf and Elsa have been with us for nearly six months after their owner had to move to a care home 🥺

We are looking for a loving forever home or foster home for these two beautiful fur balls.

Olaf and Elsa are five year old, vaccinated, and vet checked. They are adorable together, cuddly, confident, happy cats who will spoil you in cuddles 🤍🤍

Help us find their forever home! 🏡

Fireworks bring joy to many, but they can also cause intense stress for owners of pets, horses and livestock. In what should be a time of celebration, owners will often see their pets struggling and trembling in fear.

In fact, 55% of pet and livestock owners say they dread fireworks season because of the impact fireworks have on their animals and local wildlife 😞

A VOLUNTEER! 🥰

Here at Essex South West, we are looking for new volunteers to help us kick start our new journey in 2025. Could this be you?

There are a number of ways you can get involved with the branch activities, also you get to decide the amount of time you can spare. The areas most important to us are:

Adopters
Home checkers
Dog Walkers
Cat cuddlers
If you are interested in finding out more please email us on [email protected]

A £20 donation!

What does a £20 do for your local branch?

This could provide medicine and veterinary care for a cat. Sometimes a cat will come to us and need emergency treatment, maybe worming and flea treatment too!

It’s important all of the cats are checked over immediately, this way we can ensure we know of any underlying illnesses and arrange a plan with our veterinary partners. 🥼

This would be our most crucial part of starting a re-homing process!

🎶On the 9th day of christmas, Miss Pawsmas gave to me 🎶

Could you be our next foster? 🫵

We rely on fosterers to provide temporary homes for the animals in our care. Fostering an animal can help them recover from neglect, abuse, illness or injury. These are the first steps towards finding a new, loving forever home 🥰

When you foster an animal you’ll also be freeing up space in our centres so that we can rescue more animals in desperate need.

If you’re interested in signing up to be a foster with your local RSPCA branch, please send us a DM!

A NEW HOME! 🏡❤️

Snuggles and cuddles, our third rehoming in the past 2 months. The RSPCA elves have been jumping for joy at the cattery 🥳

We are so happy that another pair have been rehomed together!

Why is it important for the cats to stay together?

In snuggles and cuddles’ case, they had lived together with their previous owner for a long time before they arrived. Their owner had been taken into hospital which is very traumatic for all involved. Unfortunately for our pets, they don’t quite understand why their lives have been turned upside down, so it is even more important to keep their last ‘home comfort’.

A Christmas vet tip! 🧑‍⚕️

There is lots to be mindful of around the holiday period.. hanging baubles, sweets & treats, even FLOWERS! but one thing stands out as extremely dangerous to our feline friends… tinsel ❗️

Cats may see tinsel as any other toy! But it can cause serious illness. If tinsel is eaten it can cause a blockage in the stomach and intestine!

If you are using hanging decorations, make sure they are as secure as possible. Use ties instead of hanging them loosely 🧶

🎶On the 6th day of Christmas, Miss Pawsmas gave to me🎶

Do you want to donate blankets, food or toys to our cats this Christmas?

£5 a month helps us towards providing this to our felines. Some of our cats are incredibly playful and since they aren't able to go out and explore whilst they don't have their furever homes, we encourage lots of play in their pens!

For our more snuggly, Lay-in-bed all day kitties, we love to provide warm soft blankets for them to use in their beds.

Can you spare £5 a month?

A £40 DONATION!

What does a £40 donation do for us?

A £40 donation covers the cost of a full health consultation for our cats.

Why is a full health consultation so important when welcoming a new resident into our cattery?

It enables us to plan whatever care a cat needs, whether they need flea treatment or they struggle with their mobility. We are able to create a personal health plan which may include further care for our feline friend.

A NEW HOME! 🏡

We have great news that Fluffy and Minty have a new home!

We are thrilled that our beautiful bengals have settled wonderfully into their new home just in time for Christmas. The Essex South West branch must be on Santa's nice list as our Christmas wishes are coming true!

🎶On the 3rd day of Christmas, Miss Pawsmas gave to me🎶

A £10 donation!

A £10 donation would help us cover the cost of microchipping one of our cats. Why is this so helpful to our branch?

Once a cat is microchipped, they are then able to be identified once rehomed so we can reunite them with owners. It is said that 1 in 4 cats haven't been microchipped, meaning a whopping 100,000 cats go missing each year.

In the UK, it is now a legal requirement to have your cat microchipped. Help us help make that change!

To make a donation, please head over to our website. LINK IN BIO!

Hi! I’m Smudge. I’ve been in my new home for over 2 years now!

I was abandoned by my owners when they got a new kitten, the heartbreaking trauma of losing my family was a lot for me to process and I found it very confusing 💔

Now I’m in my furever home, I have the freedom to explore and get lots of cuddles. I don’t know about you but I like to sleep all day (on my back in my family’s big bed 😍)

I wanted to share my story as a reminder that a pet is forever, I’m so pleased to have found my family.

Lots of love, Smudge 🐾❤️

We cannot believe Olaf and Elsa have yet to find their forever home 🥺

We are now looking for a loving foster home for these two beautiful fur balls. Fostering provides animals with a safe, caring environment while they wait for their forever family. It helps them adjust, socialise, and these two will spoil you in cuddles 🤍🤍

Are you in Essex South West, or around, and can offer them a temporary sofa? please reach out! 🐾
