Adoption update - Smudge

It has been 2 years since I adopted Smudge so thought I would give you an update. Smudge is doing very well and any issues she had have now been forgotten. Smudge loves meeting people and persistent until she gets affection. She is a typical cat who sleeps all day and wants to play all night. If she was allowed out of a night time I am sure would prowl the nearby gardens causing mayhem. My neighbours all know her well and she has claimed there gardens as her territory and wo betide any strange cat that makes the mistake of visiting without permission. She is a good mouser but fortunately brings them home alive to mastered the act of bird catching. Her favourite spot for snoozing is still my bed and being upside down on her back. All in all a loving cat who of cause thinks she is the Boss.

Super happy she has found her forever home and is happy.

Proud is an understatement, one of our trustees ran the London Marathon yesterday for the branch. Still time to donate and wish her a quick recovery for her aching legs 🐾❤️🐾

Let’s get Cubby his forever home, so please share!

Meet the gorgeous Cubby!

Cubby is a male bengal who has a super friendly and loving personality. He loves going out and exploring then coming home to curl up on a warm lap.

Cubby cannot live with other animals as he is very dominant and prefers not to share his space. That said he absolutely adores the company of humans and is very vocal when showing his appreciation for hugs and strokes.

Cubby requires a special home with plenty of garden space and with owners who are confident with cats.

If you feel that you could give Cubby the home he needs then please apply using the link below

Last week we attended a local Cubs evening to talk about why people give up pets and the importance of thinking carefully before choosing to commit to an animal.

At the end we asked for the children (8-10 years old) to write a letter to one of our rescue cats explaining why they would be a great home!

Below is a selection of a few of the letters we got! I just love them 🥰😻😻

Only through education can we help ensure the next generations of animal owners are responsible.

A nice evening read…..

I just wanted to share an update on Joey and Sweep.

They are both doing really well and most importantly getting on with each other. They are very playful in the morning and evening and they both have their own bedrooms and spaces to be.

Joey is getting better at eating he now eats everything Sweep likes. Joey has his own language and he adored being outside catching lots of butterfles this summer. Sweep is very playful and she can move really fast; she loves the laser pen and playing with her toy mouse.

Since being outside all spring and summer they have got on brilliantly. It took a while to get Joey to go out he didn't like the cold and was scared of the garden but now he'd stay out there all night if I let him. I never quite believed Dave when he said they would work it out but they are brilliant together.

We got the protective fencing put up so they stay in the garden because the main road nearby worried me and we used to get lots of foxes but not now because they can't get out. Sweep uses her cat flap brilliantly, Joey can go out but has trouble coming back in!

I just want to thank you for all the support you gave me when adopting the cats. They have changed my life for the better and they have settled well into their new home. I couldn't have done this without the support you gave throughout the adoption process which was outstanding.

I wish you all a happy Christmas and New Year

*** APPEAL FOR INFORMATION ***
An investigation is in place after eight poorly four-week-old kittens were dumped in shoeboxes inside a Sports Direct bag in Enfield, North London💔

Infested with fleas and freezing cold, sadly only five of the kittens survived the conditions, and are now on the mend and will be soon well enough to find their loving forever homes🐱

If any members of the public hold any information we urge you to contact our appeals line on 0300 123 8018.

🐶💔 A woman has been banned from keeping animals for 8 years after Tyson and Lola were found in an emaciated state at a property in Sheffield where they were confined to a faeces-filled shed in the back garden 😔

When our inspector attended, Tyson was so weak that he fell down a set of concrete steps. He was rushed to a local vet where staff fought to save him but he very sadly passed away 48 hours later 😢

Lola was signed over to the care of RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre where she made a full recovery and has since found a loving home 💙
