It’s now official, horsemanship works! 🥳🥳🥳

Segment today which just aired on BBC Radio 2 following a new study (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy4j4kkxd8o.amp) that talks about 🐎🐴🫏🦄 understanding the concept of consequence and penalty.

Here at Le Rêve we use supportive sympathetic strategies such as positive reinforcement and offer all participants choices within their training based upon known outcomes. We have been using these proven concepts (rather than aggression, discipline and punishment) for many years to help equestrians and their handlers with reducing unwanted behaviours, resistance and stress towards an increase in more healthy behaviours, confidence and cooperation.

Why Not Bit-FREE? The new Charter for the Horse by the British Equestrian Federation, & partners, refers to The 5 DOMAINS by Professor David J Mellor.

Professor Mellor is the exact same global welfare expert who authored *Mouth Pain in Horses* and who supports the World Bitless Association request to the FEI - for the mandatory option to allow bit-free modern bridles in all horse sport.

The Charter is also signed by World Horse Welfare, who recently confirmed to WBA that they also support bit-free in ALL competition.

Why not bit-free - when it's proven to be a win for WELFARE?

"At the heart of the Charter are the internationally recognised ‘three Fs’ of freedom, friends and forage, and the five domains model (Mellor et al., 2020) which cite nutrition, physical environment, health, behavioural interactions and mental state as the crucial factors for an animal’s positive experience." This afternoon is for those with their own horses wanting to try something different and work their way round our fun working obstacle course 🐴
Please note this is not a lesson but staff will be on site to help and advise if needed
