Our final day of opening for Christmas arrivals is Monday 23rd December. We then re-open Saturday 28th December.

New Years our final day of opening is Monday 30th December and we re open Saturday 4th January.

We do have a few kennels and catteries available but please get booked in now to avoid disappointment. www.oakenshawkennels.co.uk and use the book online feature.

Our staff will be working throughout the Christmas and New Year period but reception will be closed.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our customers a very merry Christmas and New Year.
If you have plans for next year it’s advisable to get booked in early. Especially in school holidays when it’s our busiest time.

Good evening, we wanted to provide a little update on a few things.

This summer has once again been as busy as ever. We ended up with waiting lists of over 50-80 customers all through summer. It is really important if you want to use us, make sure we have space prior to booking any holidays. (Some people booked their last minute getaway to then find out we were full)

We had several calls once again from people who were let down by family members, other pet sitters so please make sure you have everything prepared. One man bands and family-anything can happen, a fall, a broken leg, a family emergency, don't get caught short.

October half term is fast approaching and we are almost full so if you are considering a break away then please act quickly, Christmas, yes I hate that word as well when its only September however we are already 80% full. Our dates of opening are on our website. (We open 365 days a year in the kennels but reception has opening times and days meaning thats when you can drop off and collect)

Next year we vary from 50% full and 80% full throughout the year and once again we have seen hundreds more new customers this year so as things go its only going to get busier which is why its vital to plan ahead as best you can.

Not pet related but our Son plays for Crofton and attended the fantastic gala over the bank holiday which was a great success for everyone involved.

Some mindless idiots thought it would be a good idea to set fire to the clubs equipment costing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

🐱🐱🐱Cattery Availability for August🐱🐱🐱.
We have just had a cattery become available from the 19th August. These are gold dust right now so if anyone wants a cattery from Monday 19th you can book it on our website www.oakenshawkennels.co.uk there is a minimum stay on this cattery of 7 days as its the busiest month of the calendar year. Good evening to everyone.
We would just like to try and help as many people as possible with a few helpful tips. If you are open to dates for going on holiday then its worthwhile emailing [email protected] with some dates you can work with and how long you need.

We have live availability on our booking system so it is quite easy for us to check what we have, offer you some dates so that it takes the stress out of missing kennel space whilst you are booking your holidays. Ideally, planning in advance is the way to go.

We have over 60 customers currently on waiting lists for the end of July and August. The same happened last year. We have had some many calls/emails from customers who have once again been let down. Unfortunately we cannot help everyone.

Also note that we have different kennel blocks for different dogs, one block for the larger breeds, reactive dogs, and one block for the elderly and smaller dogs. This takes a lot of working out at our end but it also means we keep the place peaceful which has worked extremely well this last 10 years. Wow 10 years, where has that gone? On the 1st August we will have been here for 10 wonderful years and we have built a fantastic reputation thanks to all of you, our lovely customers who take your time to write reviews and recommend us to friends and family.

Our customer base continues to grow and we have a number of customers that now travel from all over the Country to board with us including a lovely little JRT from Scotland, amazing!

So really this is just a little helpful hand, if you want to use us, organisation is key. We will work with you as best we can. Sorry for our lack of Facebook posts but we are extremely busy with lots of things to do and the next few months are crazy.

Good evening,
We say this every year, before booking a holiday, it’s worth checking with us what our availability is first, then try and work around that.

There is nothing worse when somebody emails saying “ I’ve just booked my holiday, but your showing no availability” we are getting busier year on year so if possible, check with us what we have and any dates you are flexible with.
That way we can help you plan.

A polite reminder not to leave booking in this year until the last minute, we are already full for some of the weeks, and based on last year, it looks like it will be the same or busier.

You can book on our website and check availability.
Please note if you book, your deposit needs paying within 12 hours of acceptance, otherwise it will be automatically removed and your place wont be guaranteed.

We are also loosing some kennels this year as we are doubling the size of some of them. This will of course, impact what we have available.

Please remember to keep your dogs in the vehicle when you arrive and make sure they are secure when you open the boot.
Our opening times are 10am-12noon and 3pm-4:30pm Monday to Saturday and we are closed for arrivals and departures on Sundays and Bank holidays.

One final thing, we do not offer day care or short stays in peak season unless its an agreed trial.
