ATTENTION -One of our lovely guests, Rosie and her pawrents were part of the world record breaking walk at Marble Hill Park this morning 🐾 absolutely smashed it with 342 dachshunds - well done Rosie 👏 sad we couldn’t make it but very proud of my little Rosie girl 🏆 🐶

Who have we got on holibobs in the month of may you ask? All these beautiful sausages are popping over for a quiet pawcation in the countryside 🐾 🏝️ all are returning guests who have been with us for a number of years, half have ivdd or are older but all are chilled pups 👏

Why do you do trials you ask? Why do they cost a lot?

🐶 As a dog boarder and especially one who looks after medical/elderly/ivdd pups I have to be super careful with whom I take on so for me the trial process is more in depth to make 100% sure your dog will fit with my regulars who are appreciative of a quiet holiday

🐶 Trials are a one off fee and although I understand I am a higher than most boarders, I am extremely picky on whom I accept at the hotel due to not taking on overly boisterous behaviour.

🐶 Trials are more money as they are more in depth use of my time for myself to gain your pups trust which can take a long time especially when they are anxious or have ivdd and this may not be gained in one day, also to work out if your pup fits in with watching their behaviour constantly and hoping they settle at night also.

🐶 Trials are essential to let me and you know whether your pup fits in and also to ease your own anxiety before you go away on holiday. You can’t just chuck a pup into boarding and hope it all works out, think of your dogs anxiety and build up their confidence if they haven’t been to boarding before.

🐶 You are kept up to date with videos & pics throughout to let you know how your pup is doing, if there are any issues to address or whether we can accept your pup as a vip guest

You will also get to see on a video virtual my house, the medium size back garden and large front driveway/garden area all very secure with lots of space for all the pups to get lots of exercise.

We hope you can appreciate the time and attention that goes into doing a trial especially for a boarder who can only accept certain pups at the hotel. We really appreciate all who book with us and hope to see you back soon xx

Let’s look at Kennel Cough…it’s name gives reason to think it’s only caught in kennels -this is not true it’s basically your dog contracting infectious bronchitis and if you read the below, this for me is the reason I insist on my guests having this vaccine before boarding at the hotel. It’s not mandatory for all boarders it’s a business choice but for my hotel, and to ensure the safety of my elderly and ivdd guests I insist on this.

Kennel cough is a respiratory infection in dogs caused by various bacteria and viruses. For healthy adult dogs, it is not normally dangerous and is likely to need no treatment at all.

I just want to highlight the hard truth -dealing with the general public is emotionally hard work when running a business. We all run our own business the best way that suits us as individuals, we don’t run it to suit anyone else. As the customer, the choice is yours to choose to work around the business rules or choose another boarder. Treat people how you wish to be treated and respect how that person wishes to run their business as it’s not your business to run. I speak for all boarders when I say- Please just be kind to dog boarders life is too short for being nasty, we are all super busy and have rules for a reason which helps us work out our own personal lives around looking after your lovely pups. Swipe for pics. Director Dolly is a shy rescue so having a groom at home is much better for her. Lovely Emily from comes to the hotel to do a pamper & nail trim. If any of my clients who r booked for a holiday this year want your pup to have a lovely groom let me know asap so we can arrange this as Emily gets booked up!

This blog from Sharon Perfectly Polite Dachshunds is excellent. If you’re having any issues with walking your dog I recommend booking your space in with Sharon to help you (and me when I have your dog) have a more pleasant walk, a walk should be lovely and stress free 🐶
