Nibbles is here to help offer a safe haven to rodents and rabbits while they wait to find their special forever humans. All our rabbits are neutered and vaccinated prior to re-homing. All prospective adopters will be home-checked and Nibbles offers back up for life - this means if you can no longer keep a pet adopted from Nibbles you MUST return them to us.

Earlier this week I shared the strange limbo we’re currently existing in — trying to prepare for the permanent closure of Nibbles, while still clinging on and trying to plan for a future that feels painfully out of reach.

So today, I want to share what it would mean if I woke up tomorrow and our monthly pledge target had been reached — and most importantly, what that would mean for the animals.

Because reaching that target isn’t just about survival.
It’s the beginning of making Nibbles thrive again.

It’s the first step toward doing what we do best: helping rabbits and rodents in their time of need and giving them, in many cases for the very first time, hope of a brighter future.

It means the rabbits currently in our care can stay right here — safe, loved, and secure — without placing further strain on the already overstretched rescues around us. We can continue to care for them properly, no matter how long it takes to find their forever homes.

It means we can begin to rebuild the vital reserves needed to welcome new arrivals. We can begin planning how and when we can reopen housing. We can look forward, not just hold on.

Over the next six months, I’ll be sharing more about what reaching this target really means — and how your pledges will go on to change lives.

👉 If you’ve already pledged — thank you. You’re the reason we still have hope.
👉 If you haven’t yet, please know that even £2/month makes a real, lasting difference. www.nibbles.org.uk/pledge

📖 Want to understand more about what this target means and why it matters? I’ve shared the full story here: https://www.nibbles.org.uk/post/your-questions-answered-how-2-month-can-save-nibbles-rabbit-rodent-rescue

Together, we can build a future for the animals who need us most.
But we need your help to get there.

🐰Meet the rabbits we continue to care for today

We’re in a really difficult place right now.

We’re doing everything we can to stay hopeful—planning what’s next if we reach our core funding target through monthly pledges. Dreaming of reopening closed units. Imagining a future where we can say yes to rabbits and rodents in need.

But at the very same time, we’re having to face the reality that we might not make it.

We’re planning for the possibility of permanent closure at the end of this year—beginning the heartbreaking process of trying to find homes for the animals already in our care, getting quotes to dismantle the rescue, and sorting through 10 years of work.

It’s unbelievably hard to live in both of those places at once.
To keep pushing forward with hope, while also preparing for the worst.

That’s why we’re starting this new series—to share the stories of the rabbits still with us today. To help them find forever homes if we can. And to show exactly what your monthly pledge helps protect—before it’s too late.

So, meet Beau.

Beau was dumped in a cardboard box in a car park in Cardigan during the June 2023 heatwave. He was dangerously overheated and terrified. He was lucky to survive at all.

There was no one else to help—Nibbles was his only chance.

And for the past two years, we’ve been here. Every day. Giving him safety, love, space, and care.

Beau is a curious and sensitive soul—full of energy and binkies when he sees us, always watching and exploring. He’s still a little wary of direct contact, but he’s slowly learning to trust.

We’re over the moon to say that Beau has now been reserved for adoption—and we hope he’ll soon be heading to the loving home he deserves.

If you’re looking to adopt, you can find out more about the rabbits still waiting for homes, read our minimum adoption requirements, and submit a pre-adoption form at:

But whether more rabbits find homes—or whether Nibbles is still here to care for them—depends on the support we receive right now.

We’re already closed to new arrivals.
We’re barely hanging on at a limited capacity.

And unless we reach our monthly funding goal in time, we won’t survive into 2026.
Your pledge—just £2/month—could be the reason other rabbits like Beau get the futures they deserve.

And the reason Nibbles is still here tomorrow.

📣 26 Weeks Left to Save Nibbles
For the last 6 months, I’ve felt like I’ve been climbing a mountain—completely focused on how far we still had to go. The top always felt out of reach, and it’s been hard not to feel overwhelmed by just how far away survival seemed.

But something changed in June.

The wave of support we received this past month has shifted my perspective. Instead of only seeing the distance left to climb, I’ve finally turned around—and I’ve seen just how far we’ve already come.

To everyone who made a pledge—thank you. You’ve not only given me hope, but you’ve given it to every rabbit already in our care, and every single animal still waiting for their second chance.

We’re not there yet. We’re still a long way from securing the funding we need to meet our core running costs—but thanks to you, I now believe that we might be able to do this. That together, we might just be able to save Nibbles.

From today, we have 26 weeks left. Just 6 months to secure the future of specialist rabbit and rodent rescue in South West Wales.

As of this morning, we’ve reached £1,974/month in monthly pledges—but we still need £1,026/month more to hit the minimum needed to survive into 2026.

Every pledge matters. Whether it’s £2, £5, or £10/month—your support means another step forward. Another animal helped. Another life saved.

👉 Make your pledge today at www.nibbles.org.uk/pledge

And if you’re already pledging and rooting for us—drop a 🐰 in the comments to show your support. Every single comment helps boost this post so more people see it and join in. You’re making a real difference just by being here.

Let’s keep climbing—together.

I want to speak to you honestly.

Closing our doors to new arrivals has been one of the hardest and most heartbreaking decisions I’ve ever had to make. But right now, we’re over £1,000 short every month of meeting the basic funding we need just to keep Nibbles going. And that shortfall changes everything.

If we can’t raise the money we need, Nibbles will close at the end of the year. And when that happens, every rabbit still in our care will need a placement elsewhere. We won’t be here for them anymore.

That’s why we’ve had to stop accepting new rabbits—because we can’t, in good conscience, take in animals we may not be able to provide long-term care for. The rescue crisis across the UK is already overwhelming. Rescues are full. Waiting lists are endless. Taking in more rabbits now, only to ask already overstretched rescues to bail us out later, would be irresponsible.

We have to put the welfare of the animals first. Always.

And yet, despite how painful this situation is—there’s still hope.

Over the past few weeks, you’ve reminded us that we’re not alone in this fight. Every new pledge, every share, every message of encouragement has meant the world. It’s because of your support that we still have a chance. A chance to survive. A chance to rebuild. A chance to return to the work we love—giving unwanted rabbits the second chances they deserve.

That future is still within reach. But only if we keep moving forward.

This weekend, we’re setting a small but meaningful goal:We’re aiming to raise £100 in new monthly pledges and reach 100 ❤️ comments from our amazing supporters to help push this post further.

That extra £100 would bring us to £2,000/month—two-thirds of the way to the core funding we need to survive at our current limited capacity.

That funding covers the essentials:
🔸 Bedding, hay, and disinfectant
🔸 Booster vaccinations and basic health care
🔸 The day-to-day needs that keep the rabbits clean, safe, and well

Even a small pledge of £2/month helps us inch closer to survival. And if you’re already pledging and cheering us on—please leave a ❤️ in the comments. It’s free. It’s simple. And it really helps us reach more people who care.

Can we hit our “100 & 100” goal before Monday and start the second half of 2025 with real hope?

Let’s stand together for the animals who are so often forgotten.
Let’s show the world that their lives matter.
Let’s save Nibbles.

A big thank you from all of us (especially the buns!) 🐰💚

Huge thanks to Ffiona Thomas for your thoughtful donation—and to the kind supporter who sent a second parcel with no note included. Your practical gifts are so appreciated!

The rabbits were very excited to receive their goodies, and gifts like these help keep everyone well-fed, enriched, and happy each day.

As hard as we’re still fighting to save Nibbles, we also have to face the reality that we are likely to close at the end of 2025. With this in mind, we’ll only be sharing our wishlist if and when supplies start to run low between now and when our gates close for good.

At the moment, we have enough stock of essentials like food, treats, and disinfectant to meet the current needs of the animals in our care.

Your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time means more than we can say. Thank you for helping us give these rabbits the very best, for as long as we can.

🐰 These rabbits need homes—before it’s too late 🐰

Nibbles is still at risk of permanent closure at the end of 2025. While we continue fighting to stay open, we have no choice but to start planning for the worst. That means doing everything we can to find forever homes for the rabbits currently in our care—now—so they don’t add to the pressure on already overstretched rescues.

🔹 Singles are looking for homes with a companion rabbit to bond with.
🔹 Pairs and our trio must be adopted as bonded groups.
🔹 Two more bonded pairs (Bridget’s boys) will be looking for homes once they’ve been neutered.

We don’t want to close—but with over 630 more £2 monthly pledges still needed, we have to be realistic.

👉 Minimum adoption requirements apply—find full details and information about each bun on our website.

Please adopt if you can and share if you can’t. Let’s get them home.

Bridget Update 💜

We haven’t shared an update on our amazing Bridget recently—not because nothing’s been happening, but because we’ve been busy trying to get to the bottom of what’s been causing the persistent infection in her right eye. And we finally feel like we’re beginning to shine a light on the problem.

After adding a 7-day course of oral antibiotics to her treatment plan and still seeing no improvement, with daily discharge continuing, a sample was taken and sent to the lab on Tuesday 3rd. The very next morning, for the first time, her eye was clear. We dared to hope. Sadly, by Saturday, the infection had returned.

The lab results came back on Monday confirming that the antibiotic we are using is effective, so we’ve now restarted a longer course of oral antibiotics alongside eye drops and pain relief. Because this infection has been present for so long—and may have been untreated for months before she was dumped—it’s deep-seated and incredibly stubborn. But despite it all, Bridget’s spirit never falters.

She’s been unbelievably brave throughout. She takes all her meds willingly, sits calmly for her eye washes, and trusts us completely. With her pain now under control, she’s full of life—curious, affectionate, and always first to greet us, even when it’s treatment time.

It’s clear Bridget’s had a rough start. Likely used as a breeding machine, discarded when she was no longer of use, and left to die alone. To those who dumped her, she was worthless. But to us, she’s everything.

This is why Nibbles needs to survive.

So that rabbits like Bridget—those no one else wants to help—have somewhere to turn. So they get the chance to know safety, love, and what life should feel like.

Her care has been intensive—at one point requiring treatment 5–6 times a day, and still ongoing 3 times daily. But we’re already seeing encouraging signs since restarting the oral antibiotics, and we’re hopeful she’ll beat this infection so we can start addressing her other issues. We’re even washing her little paws with F10, just in case any bacteria is lingering there.

We’re hoping, with everything we have, for a positive outcome. For Bridget. And for Nibbles. Because the next Bridget is already out there—and without us, she might never get her chance.

👉 If you believe rabbits like Bridget deserve better, please help us stay open.
We need 658 people to pledge £2/month before December to save Nibbles and keep standing beside rabbits like her.

**Adoption Spotlight **

Meet Glyndwr – a truly unique bun looking for an experienced, understanding home. He’s around 3.5 years old and absolutely packed with personality.

Glyndwr is confident and curious—he’s not one to hide away. Sit by his pen and he’ll come straight over, place his front paws on your knee, and happily enjoy a gentle head smooth. He takes treats politely and can seem like the perfect companion.

But Glyndwr has a definite Jekyll-and-Hyde side.

When anything crosses into his space—whether it’s your hand, an arm, or even just refilling his water bowl—he can switch in an instant. If you push his boundaries, he will bite. He’s reactive and unpredictable when it comes to physical contact on his terms.

Since arriving in February, we’ve been working patiently with him to help him feel more relaxed around us. We saw steady progress—until a recent change in his environment appeared to trigger a setback. Thankfully, he’s now settling again, but it’s a reminder of how sensitive he is to disruption.

The video we’re sharing shows both sides of Glyndwr: his challenging behaviour when we enter his space, and the softer, sweeter version once we’ve stepped away. We didn’t push him or provoke a reaction for the sake of footage—but had we tried to stroke him, he would have bitten. Our priority is always to support him respectfully.

Glyndwr isn’t suitable for a home with children. He’s looking for someone who has experience with complex rabbit behaviour and the patience to carry on the work we’ve started.

If that sounds like you, we’d be happy to talk more. Glyndwr may not be everyone’s idea of the perfect bun—but with the right person, we believe he can flourish.

Could you be the one to give him a chance?

You can find out more about him, our adoption process and the other rabbits we currently have looking for homes at www.nibbles.org.uk/adoption
