Yesterday, I got to see the wonderful Nemo in the comfort of his own home 🏡 you may recognise Nemo from previous posts as he regularly attends one of my Scentwork classes. I am now supporting his owners with Nemo's reactivity towards other dogs on his walks. In our consultation we had a good long chat about Nemo's history, health and current behaviour. I was then able to observe and support on a walk, already introducing some useful tips and training exercises to get started on. His owners have done a wonderful job getting Nemo to where he is and I am looking forward to helping to make walks a lot easier for all of them in our following sessions 🥰

I was honoured to have Nemo calmly resting on my leg whilst he listened to our chat all about him 😀

Long time, no post! 😱
I have had many, many phone related issues this past week and now finally have a new phone...
I will hopefully be able to catch up with all of the social media posts I had planned now.

Love these snaps I got yesterday of the horses enjoying the attention from the owners whilst the dogs were rewarded for being calm around them. The horses can be very distracting for some dogs when we first train here but they quickly build confidence in being able to train with these two large creatures just in the background 🐎

After my regular session this morning with a client, I just popped into Aldi on my way back and people kept looking at me, more than normal anyway😅 they kept looking at my legs and I had a heart in mouth moment where I thought, “am I wearing trousers?!” 😂 so I looked down and realised I still had a long, fluffy chaser toy hanging down from my treat pouch 😅

This is the life of someone who works with dogs 🐾 I would LOVE to know if people realised it was a dog toy or what they thought it was!

Want to know some exciting news? 😁
I am now offering personal trainer sessions! I have worked with so many wonderful dog guardians over the past couple of years and a frequent barrier to progress is - TIME ⏰ We all have such busy lives and fitting in time to train can be really challenging. It can also be really hard to teach your dog a new skill when you are still learning yourself. The purpose of these sessions is to give your dog a head start in their training where I use my years of experience training many, many dogs to help your dog to learn something new 🤩
After each session I will provide you with notes and things to continue with until my next visit. I will then do a handover session where I teach you how to communicate with your dog and utilise the skills they have learnt. These sessions are suitable for dogs that need to work on basic training and will not be suitable for dogs that show complex behaviours. If you would like to know more or think this would really help you & your dog to progress, please get in touch!

Beautiful boy Teddy doing his thing at Scentwork club last Wednesday 😍 he did a great job focusing even with his doggy friends in sight which isn’t easy for a socialable boy like Teddy 🧸

Otto is a young dog 🐕 who has been loving his training in our Scentwork club sessions! For such a young dog, Otto has mastered his freeze indication and is progressing well with his ability to search for Kong. He is a very talented young boy, watch this space 👀

Images from our last Gun Dog training class with Ruby and Wally the Labradors 🤩 very different weather to what we have today but as you can see, these two were not deterred by the rain 🌧️ both dogs did some great retrieves in this session and progressed to even more advanced skills such as an emergency stop ✋
