I provide a range of pet related services ranging from daily dog walks to home visits and holiday pet feeding. I am based in Brighouse and cover areas within HD3, HD6, HX4, HX5. Each walk lasts between 45 and 60 minutes, not including pick up & drop off. Dogs can be walked on the lead or off lead if they are well socialised and have good recall. The dogs are transported in a van that has been adap

ted to carry dogs in separate compartments. Home visits: This can be to check on a pet that is unwell, letting them out for a comfort break etc. Home visits can also be made for puppies that are not old enough for walks again letting them out for a comfort break & feeding them. Holiday small pet feeding: This service is offered to small furry pets (not dogs). I will make daily visits to check on your pet, feed it, and clean out. I will also pick up post, water plants etc if required. Every pet is treated with love and care - just as if it was one of my own. Please contact me via mobile 07958805936 to discuss your requirements and costings.

We have been notified that a poisonous plant is being used as decoration in a pot plant that can be purchased in garden centres and possibly florists.

The pot plant is Livistona rotundifolia (footstool palm; also known as Saribus rotundifolius) and pots of these plants are decorated with three fibrous balls. The balls are the skeletonised fruit of Cerbera odollam (su***de tree, pong-pong). Within each fruit is a kernel that is extremely toxic; a single kernel can be fatal if eaten and poses a risk to both pets and people. The toxic compounds in Cerbera odollam are cardiac glycosides, which are also found in foxglove, oleander, lily of the valley and other plants.

If you have these fibrous fruits in your pot plant, remove them and dispose of them safely. It you are worried your pet may have eaten the plant material contact Animal PoisonLine (01202 509 000)or your vet immediately.

For many, Christmas is a time for sharing mouth-watering and delicious festive foods with friends and family. Although your dog may be high-up there on your list of loved ones, sharing certain human foods with them can make your dog very ill and could even be fatal. Microchip Check Day 15th August 2022 is here to remind you of the importance of Microchipping your pet and ensuring your details up to date! 🐶☑️

It is a legal requirement that all dogs and puppies over the age of 8 weeks to be microchipped, the owner must ensure the details are kept up to date. Failure to do so results in hefty fines.💲💲💲

If your pet is found injured, the microchip allows a vet to gain quick access to your details to contact you in the event your pet needs emergency treatment. It also helps your pet if lost and found to be returned more quickly, reducing stress, and upset for both you and your pet. 🐶🚑👨‍👩‍👦

Have you moved house?
Changed name?
Changed your telephone number?

Please check out www.checkachip.com to see which microchip database your pet is registered and how you can update your details.👍😁🐶

☀️🌡More handy tips for the summer heatwave🌡☀️

🐾All animals may be at risk of overheating, but those at a higher risk include; overweigh, young, elderly, Giant breeds, thick fur, flat-faced (brachycephalic), underlying health conditions etc.
🐾Regular grooming to remove dead fur can help keep your pet cooler
🐾Using cool mats or vests correctly can also help make your pet feel comfortable in the hot weather
🐾Keeping pets out of the direct sun is essential during the hot weather, if you have pets with white area of exposed skin or pink noses, pet friendly sun cream could benefit to prevent sunburn and associated risks

🌊In the hot weather, its tempting to cool your dog off in the water (lakes, rivers, sea) but just beware that dry drowning, algae, bacteria and strong currents could put your dog at risk.
Keep the length of time your dog swims to a minimum and the use of fetching toys, as swallowing too much water can cause water intoxication. If you are concerned about this, contact your vet immediately.🌊
