We are recruiting Stud Hands to join our team!
Due to recent expansion we are seeking two Stud Hands to join our small, dynamic and friendly team. Experience working as a Stud Hand or with horses is preferred however applicants with no prior experience will also be considered as we provide a full training and mentoring programme. Applicants must demonstrate enthusiasm, a good work ethic and willing attitude along with a level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work. A car driver with full licence is preferred due to location but not essential.
Duties include: Handling mares and foals, horse care and management such as feeding, grooming, assisting the vet and farriers, maintaining cleanliness and organisation of stables and paddocks, assisting with foaling and newborn care, administering medications and treatments as directed, general yard duties and other associated tasks as directed.
Skills required: Listening skills and the ability to follow instruction are essential. Applicants must be able to work and interact as part of a small team, have good timekeeping skills and the confidence to handle large animals.
