No training for us today! ❌️

Instead we had the pleasure of sitting out in the glorious sunshine, talking everything dog with Phil The Animal Chiro whilst having team dogs treated! 😎☀️

We compete to a high level and we train intensely - it WOULD NOT be possible to keep up what we do without routine checks to make sure everything is where it should be!

Phil has treated our team for 5+ years now.... as always, thank you so much for today! 🩷

Well done to 2 of our clients - Lily Mason and Picnic

British Junior Women’s Canicross Champions 23/24 🇬🇧🏆

Lily and Picnic were undefeated in their debut season aged 13 in their category 14-17 junior women’s!

Lily is an avid runner and has won numerous county titles with her XC running as a junior and is also bronze medalist for the Midlands 5km Road Championships! Lily and Picnic (flyball dog born and bred) turned their hand to canicross to see what they could achieve! So far they are undefeated within canicross!

🙋‍♀️ my grass hasn’t stopped growing this winter and I know many of you are in the same position. Please let’s be careful 🐎

MILD WINTER/EARLY SPRING - PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Its been a very mild Winter for most of the UK and grass growth in many places has been much higher than normal. As a result many horses and ponies that I've been seeing have also maintained weight better than they usually would over Winter.

Combined with the fact that we are also having a mild Spring, the grass in many areas is growing very well. This may lead to fairly sharp weight gain, behaviour changes, digestive disturbance and is a particular concern for those with laminitis prone horses or ponies and those prone to colic.

So please take care. Keep an eye on the paddocks. Keep an eye on your horses/ponies’ weight.

Today we had our team day with Phil, making sure everyone's in tip top condition ready for the season ahead!

All of our Crufts lineup were checked out before we hit the green carpet in a couple of weeks time! 😱

We even got to squish Frenchy and Panthers beautiful puppies before they had their first ever check up too! 🥰

Huge thankyou to Phil for all you do for our team, and scheduling our checks throughout the year!

On Wednesday 13 December (tomorrow) at 7pm I'm joining World Horse Welfare for a Nutrition edition of their very popular and informative series of Welfare Wednesday Webinars. We will be discussing feeding horses and navigating many of the tightly-held but often wrong beliefs when it comes to horses and their food requirements.

I'll be talking ‘Nutribaloney’ as I call it! We'll be discussing issues surrounding grass and forage, as well as concentrate feeds. We will also be examining the marketing of feeds and supplements, and what you need to know to make sure you are buying feeds and supplements for your horses safely.

Someone once told me 4 year's ago that my life was going to change and that meant I couldn't do the things I loved in life and life would only get worse and not better.!!!

If you have determination, dedication, a good support group you can make dream's come true.
Ruby just under 4 now. I’ve had her from a pup is my first trialing dog. Gemma is 2 yrs 8 months and came next, followed by Jack who’s 2 years.
🐾Ruby just won her first novice this year and last year a 1st , 3rd, 4th, 5th in nursery.
🐾Jack’s first time out at Dovedale this year and won his first nursery.
🐾Gemma is about to start her first year after a long battle with an injury and I hold high hopes for her.
🐾Ruby I never thought would make the trial field after a bad neck injury. This was after a collision with another dog. It’s continuous treatment that keeps her on form.

I can't thank the Chiro Man enough! It wouldn't be possible without you Phil. You made it happen with all my dogs.

Dreams can come true 👍

What a weekend at the BWRA Championships! (the biggest accolade in non ped whippet racing)

Billie (Who’s That Diva) our youngster, taking overall supreme bitch. And Joel (Who’s That Duke) bagging runner up supreme dog. He’s been off since May after an injury so rehab being aimed for this day - it was a pretty special weekend!

Both homebreds from different litters by our superstar on the track and now super brood, Mia ‘(Who’s That Girl)

USE YOUR HORSE'S CONDITON FOR GRASS ACCESS (NOT GRASS)

It's your horse's condition (body fat level) that tells you how much grass access to give them, not the grass itself.

Looks like very little grass but horse overweight or gaining? Restrict grass more.

Looks like lots grass compared to last year but horse losing weight (and no contraindications to grass)? Restrict grass less.

(You may need to feed supplementary forage in the first case).

Use your horse or pony's condition to make adjustments to their diet, not what grass you can see, what your neighbours are doing, the time of year, or any other factor.
