Muscles pull on bones to create movement, and when arthritis is present, the joint has to recruit extra support of muscles which leads to your dog offloading, overcompensating on other limbs, primary as well as secondary areas of muscular and myofascial pain, and habitual patterns of tension throughout the whole body

So it's not just the joint thats affected.
It's your dog's whole body.
We can help.

🍁 🍂 Autumn Hazards for Dogs 🍂🍁

🍄Mushrooms and Toadstools: Some wild mushrooms are ok to eat, many are highly toxic to dogs and can cause liver and kidney failure. If you are concerned your pet has eaten a mushroom please ensure to seek veterinary attention straight away.

🍁Conkers: Contain a toxin called aesculin which can cause drooling, vomiting and abdominal pain. They can also cause a blockage.

🎃Halloween: Jelly sweets can contain a toxin called xylitol which is toxic to dogs.

🌾Harvest mites: These are present in long grasses during autumn and can cause scratching and itching.

✨Dark nights: Dark nights can reduce the visibility of your pet, especially when walked off lead. We suggest using reflective collars or harnesses.

🎆Fireworks: Many dogs find fireworks stressful. We will be producing a post with tips as to how to keep your pet safe and calm.

💧Antifreeze: is Ethylene Glycol and is a sweet tasting liquid. Ingestion of even very small amounts can cause severe kidney damage, breathing difficulties and seizures.

If you are concerned your pet has had contact with any of the above please give us a call for advice.

I can personally highly recommend Aquatic Canine Therapy - ACT Now - they have just opened their pool at their newer premises in Kingsclere. They also have a water treadmill which my own boy uses for fitness sessions on a regular basis. A great team of friendly and knowledgeable therapists. To get your discount on pool sessions just contact them quoting “Canine Massage” 🥰
