Many people leave out pumpkins around Halloween but did you know these can be dangerous to hedgehogs? Please ensure you move these to higher ground out of the reach of hedgehogs.

Pumpkin is a laxative which can cause diarrhoea in hedgehogs. In extreme cases, it can be life-threatening! Hedgehogs need to gain as much weight as possible during this time, but this could hinder their progress in gaining enough fat reserves to survive hibernation so please be careful when leaving your Halloween decorations out!

Going wild

At Spike’s World we believe that caring for our native wildlife is as important as feeding our own pets - and we're delighted that so many people share that belief.

That’s why we’ve created our WildThings range. It’s a selection of nutritious foods, ideally balanced to supplement the natural diet of our wild garden visitors.
