🛑 A Hutch is Not Enough 🛑

Rabbits need more than a small hutch to thrive🐇 Confining them to tight spaces is cruel and harmful. Here’s why:

🐰 Solitary Confinement: Rabbits need space to run, jump, stretch, dig, and forage, as well as a bonded mate for companionship.

🐰 Weather Exposure: Small hutches offer little protection from the elements, leaving rabbits vulnerable.

🐰 Room to Rear Up: Rabbits must be able to stand on their hind legs without touching the roof to avoid spinal issues.

Minimum Enclosure Size: At least 3m x 2m x 1m high—bigger is always better!

Dog breath isn’t always an ‘old dog thing’, which for many can be the assumed thing.

Just like us, cats and dogs can experience dental issues that require attention.

This , take a moment to assess your pet's breath. If it's less than pleasant, it could be a red flag for dental issues such as gum disease, plaque buildup, or tooth decay.

If you’ve noticed any new dental symptoms in your pet, contact us today. ↙️

Did you know that dogs can donate blood?
Many ill or injured pets need blood transfusions, so it’s important that practices have access to a ready supply of blood on hand.
To become a blood donor (which is a simple procedure), dogs should meet the following criteria:
Aged over one but under 8 years old
Weigh over 25 kilos
Be fully vaccinated
Not travelled abroad
Not on medication

For more information about joining the Pet Blood Bank, visit
their website: https://www.petbloodbankuk.org/

23/05/2024

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of flystrike for our fluffy companions. Flystrike, a potentially fatal condition, occurs when flies lay eggs on a rabbit's fur, which then hatch into maggots and feed on their flesh.
Keep a close eye on your rabbit's hygiene and living environment, especially during warmer months. Regularly check for any signs of soiled fur, wounds, or unusual behavior.
Prevention is key: ensure your rabbit's living space is clean and dry,
and consider using flystrike prevention methods recommended by your vet.
If you suspect flystrike, seek veterinary assistance immediately. Early detection and
treatment are crucial for the well-being of your furry friend. Let's keep our rabbits safe and flystrike-free this summer!

This is Betty, poor Betty came into us in a really bad way as she had been stuck down a rabbit hole for 6 days. After days of searching her owners luckily heard her and ended up using a digger to get her out. She has now made a full recovery and is back to her normal self at home 🥰
