A handfasting refers to one of two types of ceremonies, either a "wedding" or a betrothal of a year and a day, some decide the handfast for this lifetime, or forever, which the participants can then decide. Handfasting is quite popular today, among many people who find that their own lifestyles call for an alternative joining ceremony to that provided by more typical weddings. Handfastings are not
a legal ceremony, which means that you are not married by law. But then on the other hand, you have made that loving commitment between eachother without all the paraphanalia of paper work and registrar. They can be used by people who are members of Pagan (polytheistic nature religions), or by people who don't necessarily share the same beliefs. You can have a bespoke handfasting, decide what you would like. I am on hand for ideas, decisions, in the best way I can, in confidence and with care to every detail. Make them your own, shape them to fit your own needs and desires to declare your love in a ritual. Added to your ceremony can be a beautifully decorated besom (a broomstick, which is jumped over to show you stepping from a single life into a new life together), headresses, the handfasting cord, flowers, cake etc... The day is yours. Also I offer baby namings/Wiccanings, which are similar to a christaning. They can be held in your back garden, or again in a special place that you decide. Again you don't have to be Pagan for your baby to have a naming ceremony. Croning ceremonies are for those who are coming to a time in their life where you would like to celebrate the oncoming years. And rites of passage are for those who wish a ceremony on the passing of a loved one. All done in a caring, considerate way. This can also be conducted for your dear pets too.
