Hello! Sorry i've been so quiet lately. Baby is definitely hardest one out the lot lol.

I am taking appointments for a few slots a week now. Please be aware i can only take 1 dog at a time INCLUDING same family sets for now as i'm working on a 1 app basis while time is limited.

I am now closed on Wednesday mornings.

Feel free to message me on WhatsApp to discuss booking.

Hope everyone is well and can't wait for licks and cuddles

Hello!

Sorry, I can't work out how to fix the opening times or redo my auto message 🙈.
I am now closed for a few weeks! I will hopefully be back soon, once we are into a routine and I feel well enough to return too!
Missing all your lovely puppers! If anyone would like shampoo, advice or their dogs cut info then don't hesitate to ask and i'll get them to you asap.

Thanks everyone! Look forward to seeing you back soon.

I have put the whatsapp option on the page so please feel free to use that as it will come through directly to my phone.

🚨WARNING FOR WALKS🚨

Hello everyone. I've been informed about a couple of poisoning incidents.
These are in Coronation park and Colliers wood in the eastwood area.

Anyone that lives/walks their dogs around there. Please be mindful and careful of what they could pick up.

Stay safe

So as promised. Nails.

Those of you with white clawed dogs know that this is pretty straight forward. Find the quick (vein) running through the nail and trim at a slant just before this starts. I will attatch a photo to show the angle for this.
However those dogs with black nails.. this get's more complicated.. as we can't see the quick.
When this is the case. It is best to start slow and steady and only take small amounts at a time.
The inside of the nail will have different stages that you can see and change the closer to the quick you get.
Start with the tip of the nail, and check for what you can see. You should be able to see the black circle outline, and a lighter grey/white inside, this may look solid or a bit grainy in texture. Then further in you will see another black circle, which may also be an arch or incomplete. This is what we are watching for as this shows where the vein starts and is the marker to stop when this is a full circle. I have attached pics to give a better representation and visual aid.

This gets easier with practise and of course a willing dog 😂 however if you do cut their quick. DO NOT PANIC if you have antiseptic powder that's perfect if not. Any clogging powder will do. Even flour! Just apply a small amount to the effected nail and apply a small amount of pressure for a few minutes. You might have to do this throughout the first day if you have a particularly jumpy excitable dog. However by bed time it will be all healed and clotted.

Please note. If your dogs nails are very over grown then you won't be able to cut them short straight away. It will take a few weeks to slowly encourage the quick to recede. Trimming the nails frequently will help do this and eventually go shorter and shorter to a nice comfortable length.

Hope this helps and feel free to comment or message if you want anything going over or questions.

Stay safe

Good Afternoon!
Hope everyone is well and coping in the third lock down.
Not the best start to 2021 but here we are.

As promised i have a few spare minutes to do a small post about grooming tips. I would come up with a quirky name for it. But i can't think of any right now. Feel free to suggest any 🙈

Today i will start with nails! And i have compiled a couple of pics and will write a bit to go with it.

As before, if you want anything explained or gone over. Just ask :)

Post will be done shortly

Hello!

I realise i am late in posting this, as with home schooling at all the joys that brings. I have been a little distracted.

However as you may be aware during this new lockdown, a lot of businesses have had to close again.
Unfortunately this includes dog groomers.

According to DEFRA guidelines i can only accept "Welfare" cases at the moment.

This includes dogs that are;

Matted (large and tight knots that are close to the skin and cover large parts of your dogs coat)

Skin conditions - dogs that need regular baths to keep their skin healthy and help regulate any sore or itchy skin.

Vet referrals - If you vet has told you that your dog will benefit from being groomed for their health (proof may be required).

I am really saddened that this has had to happen again and i am already missing your and your furry faced friends! But we will see each other soon 🐾

I am looking to post some helpful tips and information to help you at home. Including brushing technique and nail trimming.
Time permitting!
If there are any aspects you would like to see posted or explained. Don't hesitate to ask.

If anyone would like any shampoo to bath at home. I can try and get some to you if you're local or near where i will be travelling for essential journeys.

Stay safe everyone. See you soon!
