There’s another charity event coming up soon and a few of our team members will be taking part. On Saturday 7th September members of the QHSE and Sales & Marketing department will take to the streets of Birmingham for the 10km Shine Night Walk Birmingham to support Cancer Research UK, raising money for the great cause of funding vital research and supporting those with cancer. We are so proud that the team will be participating in such a wonderful event and hope you can help out by donating, or spreading the message. Please go to https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/addfield-angels to leave a donation. Thank you!

Last week we held an amazing team building exercise at our local rugby club, every employee from Addfield Environmental and Addfield Projects were invited to come down to join in on some wonderful activities and fill up on some tasty food & drinks. This was a great opportunity to get out of the office and the factory to let off some stress with a round of axe throwing, and show off our competitive side while bonding with our selected teams during a game of human football. Thank you everyone for attending and making this a wonderful afternoon treat, we hope you enjoyed yourselves and that your spirit is thoroughly boosted.

Following last week’s post and all the news about the rise in cases of MPOX, it seems like perfect timing for the first 5 of 15 compact medical incinerators, the MP100 shipping out to a region historically prone to being impacted by the MPOX virus. This order for a major international aid agency will help dispose of the increasing medical waste which could be added to by the emergency treatment of the MPOX outbreak. We’re glad to know that our machines are out there, making a difference, especially during these hard times.

As you may have seen on the news, Monkey Pox was found in DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and other countries in Africa seeing an upsurge in cases, and even the first confirmed case in Europe, with Sweden announcing one person has contracted the virus. The WHO confirms that significant efforts are already in place to contain the outbreak, with vaccines being administered, and an abundance of medical waste is likely to be created. Safe disposal of medical waste is crucial, especially in these circumstances, and incineration has been proven time and time again to be the safest method of disposal. Here at Addfield, we want to make sure that we can help keep these communities safe, so we have already started to put emergency medical incinerators in production.

Although you may see many of our machines rocking Addfield’s signature green, customising your machine with a colour you prefer is also an option. Some amazing colours that we have previously seen have ranged from a simple cream, to a striking purple, but there are 1000s of colours to choose from if you have a specific colour in mind for your business. When you visit the factory to meet with your sales expert, they will show you this RAL colour chart so that you can flick through and find the colour perfect for you.

Here at Addfield we like to take every project as an opportunity to do something better than the last one. Customers ask for things that we may not have done before and instead of saying “No” we take a look and see what we need to do to make their ideas a reality. This is a perfect example of such a situation with what at first glance looks like a normal Mini agricultural incinerator, its only when you take a look behind that you can see the magic. The first automatic doors on a top loading incinerator as requested by the customer just press a button and they open or close perfectly. Another example of Addfield delivering upon our promises and maintaining our promise of being simply built better.

A huge thanks to Staffordshire Signs for once again helping us improve our factory. Being local to them, we have worked with Staffordshire Signs for many years now and they have helped us in times of need with last minute decals for machines and even the bigger projects, just like this branded artwork displayed proudly in our factory in Burntwood, UK, making the space more engaging and showing off our pride in the work we do.
Over the years we have built a trust with Staffordshire Signs and we know that we are always going to get the best service possible and amazing quality products, just like many of our customers have been working with Addfield and come back each time for spares and services and even new opportunities. It’s always great when you find a business that you can trust and can stick with for many years to come and know you’re going to be taken care of. Thanks again for the installation, you have surely brightened up the factory even more!

We had a busy start the morning today with all hands-on deck getting these 8 containerised MP100s shipped out to Cameroon. There are a total of 32 machines to be shipped out for this UNICEF job, all in 20ft containers with side opening doors, perfect for the hot weather in Cameroon. We can’t wait to see the rest of these machines being shipped off and installed in their new location, helping make a difference in the community.

Being prepared can make all the difference when it comes to Biosecurity. Today a major UK newspaper has reported on the risks that are being considered by UK health Officials after raising the latest bird flu outbreak from a ‘level 3’ to ‘level 4’.
As we have already mentioned several times this year Avian Flu is mutating and crossing species, first into cows and then into humans. Although this is not a major concern to the public as it is not seen to be contagious between people. However for people working closely with animals, be it Cattle or Poultry this is something to be aware of.
One of the main reasons farmers choose an Addfield agricultural incinerator is to increase the site biosecurity and this is one of those situation to make people sit up and think about preparing for what may be round the corner.
From small scale operations investing in a Mini to dispose of their fallen poultry stock, cattle farmers with a TB AB all the way to government agencies investing in our massive Rapid 1000s.
As the saying goes “Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail”. Not only are our incinerators highly fuel efficient saving customers time and money should another Pandemic appear these could help them save their business.
What are you doing to keep your industry safe?

We have spoken about the increase in horse crematoriums previously, but with more and more businesses diversifying to include horse cremations, we figured it was time for a reminder for you. On its own, horse cremation is a perfect business idea, but it also a great opportunity for established pet crematoriums to expand their business. Due to their size, many horse crematoriums charge higher fees per horse, which could possibly fully pay off your investment of a larger machine in less than a year. The TB-AB Equine is a popular choice as it is built specifically to suit even the biggest of individual horses. Speak to a horse cremation expert to learn more about our equine cremators.

We had another busy week this week. Preparing 8 machines to be shipped around the world. A mix of incinerators, from a compact medical MP200 to a massive agricultural Rapid1000, these machines will be delivered in very different parts of the globe including New Zealand and the USA. It has also freed up quite a bit of space in our factory, helping us prepare for more amazing projects. Great job everyone!

16/07/2024

With the Addfield Projects team expanding, it was time for a team building exercise at the office, to welcome new starters, learn more about each other and ultimately strengthen the bond of the team. They used their individual expertise and joined forces to carry out problem solving activities, proving that they can solve more than high-capacity waste disposal needs. These photos look wonderful, and we can see it was a successful day, great job everyone and we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

What makes an Addfield Incinerator the best on the market. Well to be honest there are many things that make them 'Simply Built Better' one of the most recognisable differences between Addfield and most of our competitors is that we use a modern Brick based refractory whereas you will commonly find a more simple cast approach in alternate machines. Heres a little look inside at what makes this special.

US Sales Manager, Lynn, will be attending the 85th American Convention of Meat Processors and Supplier’s Exhibition in Omaha, Nebraska. From the 1st to the 3rd of August and held at the Hilton Health Centre Omaha, you can meet with Lynn and discuss your incineration needs further. Don’t miss out on three chances to speak with the agricultural experts!

This week we welcomed Baltic Control for an external Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) carrying out a series of checks and tests on the first of 32 containerised MP100 Medical Waste incinerator machines before they ship out for Cameroon on behalf of UNICEF. Whether we test internally or externally, FAT is a great way to ensure the quality of our machines, and of course it passed with flying colours! Well done team.

Unfortunately, Avian Flu continues to spread, and there have recently been confirmed human cases in Australia and the USA. Some farmers are worried about the increase in cases of Avian Flu and are looking for more ways to keep their farms biosecure. Incineration is the safest, quickest and most cost-effective solution for farms to dispose of infected and fallen stock to help stop the spread to their current livestock and others.

Our international aid expert Abraham has just returned from a trade mission to the United Nations headquarters in New York. Meeting many other environmental leaders from across the world and discussing several exciting new opportunities. Collaboration is key when working with Aid Agencies and Abe was able to share many success stories of our previous installations that he has worked on and visited personally and how they are still in operation and supporting communities many years after the initial project end dates. To have been invited to such a valuable event was a real honour and continued proof in our claim that Addfield is Simply Built Better.

Another great installation, this time in Dominican Republic where the skies are blue, and these pictures look wonderful. This installation is for the Aeropuerto de las Americas airport, and is for 2 G200s. These high-capacity general waste machines are going to make a big difference for the management of the waste generated at the airport. Great job!

Last night was the 2024 Express and Star Business Awards ceremony and we are proud to announce that we have been awarded ‘Small to Medium Business Award’. As you can see, the team had a blast celebrating and we are very thankful to every key member of the Addfield family, for helping us win this award with their dedication to Addfield. Congratulations to every other business who won last night as well, it was a pleasure to share the ceremony with you! Well done team!

Interesting news this week as experts continue to warn about the dangers of African Swine Fever and the risk of it crossing even the tightest border controls and entering the UK. It has now spread across more than 90 countries and continues to be a major threat for the industry. We will always stand by the benefits of Biosecurity and our expert team has helped hundreds of Famers worldwide to stay Biosecure. If you have any questions please just reach out.

Another fantastic set of pictures have come back from a recent installation of a MP500 containerised medical waste incinerator in the Cayman Islands. Another success from Hristo and happy customers all around. Great work team.

It may not be the first time that we are exhibiting at the World Pork Expo in Iowa but it is certainly the busiest.
Lynn and his team have been joined by several of our distributors not just from the US, with Cherie and TIm lending a hand but also some of our friends all the way Japan.
It's one of the real reasons we love attending shows like this, it gives us the opportunity to catch up with our expert team from all around and learn about their experiences so that we can give our customers the most honest and accurate information for treating all their waste types. Rather than repeating the same statements time and again for the same machines, we get to learn first-hand in a way that has led us to continuously improve our machines to become the global choice for incinerators that are famous for being simply built better time and again. Fantastic work team we are all really proud of the impact you are having for our customers.

May is almost over and our pet cremation expert Kim has been on a mission to raise money for Cancer Research by walking a whopping 100 miles in the month of May. She has already raised a remarkable amount of money that will go towards important research.

There are still a few more days of the month to go, so if you haven’t already, please consider sponsoring Kim and help bring life changing resources to sufferers and survivors.

We are incredibly proud of Kim and the dedication she has shown throughout this month to such an amazing cause. She has inspired us all to help those in need!

We are very proud of our engineers and their willingness to travel to sometimes inhospitable environments to complete installations and servicing. I think you can all agree that it can be difficult for them. For example just last week we received some pictures back from our engineer sharing the view of where they were working. Pretty shocking I know.

This is the view that our engineer, Simon, had on his recent installation of a PET200 in Barbados. The beautiful views make all the hard work worth it!

The amazing thing about our team here is their willingness to travel whether it is a luxurious island install like this in Barbados but sometimes they do travel to some less desirable locations.

Each installation is different, and while this one has views of the beach, we are looking forward to more site photos, just like an installation coming up in the South Pole which couldn't be a more different installation that this from Sun to Sub Zero. Our team will travel wherever the job takes them.

Today is the second and final day of this years Pig and Poultry show, yesterday was amazing and a great opportunity to see some of you that we have worked with for many years now, alongside meeting the next generation of farmers joining our ranks. A lot of insights into the challenges facing the farming community at the moment and it’s great that we are able provide solutions that are proven to save on your running costs.

We hope that today is as, if not more successful than yesterday and if you are in the area it really is a great opportunity to come and take a look inside at what makes Addfield the first choice across more than 150 countries.

Come and find us in Hall 11 on stand 420.
