We like to have a mix of walking, running, training and sniffing on our walks. Sniffing is much more tiring than walking for dogs as it stimulates more of the brain and increases their respiration rate. It can also be very calming.
If our guests have had a mad time racing around, we will finish our walks or garden time with some scatter feeding or scentwork, where they have to sniff out the treats, which calms them down ready for rest time.
