We worked on walking on the lead, leave, down and finished the evening with some puzzles for some mental stimulation.

Fabulous that The Harrogate Dog can provide work experience for Disability Action Yorkshire. A great collaboration that both companies are looking forward to grow. We currently have one adult work placement three days a week from Disability Action Yorkshire and soon will be working with two more adults ! Really heart warming they can help us and we can help them ! 🥰 The dogs are super happy 🐶

When we set up Harrogate Dog Day Care, we did so in the belief that all necessary consents had been obtained, including planning permission. Dog day care does not occupy any specific Planning Use Class, a situation known as “sui generis”, and we understood we could therefore freely utilise Strayside House. It subsequently transpired that we did need to apply to the Planning Department for change of use, and that application has now been submitted retrospectively. If you would be willing to do so, we would appreciate your assistance in providing comments in support of the application. In particular, we believe that Harrogate Dog Day Care offers a sustainable alternative to out of town facilities, allowing local residents to walk to the property and reducing the need for multiple car journeys. We also believe that as an existing commercial building, our use creates no material change to the amount of visitors to Strayside House or the car park, above what has historically existed.
