Some fantastic socialisation ideas here 🌟
One of my favourite pet toy companies Myshka's Toy Box posted this morning that they were having a stand at the TiCats & Cakes cat show in Spalding this weekend so I had to run over there to say hello! Another of my favourites, Happy Kitty Blankets were there too 😻
I stocked up on goodies and took 3 of Myshka’s rabbit fur catnip balls out on my teatime kitty visits tonight🤤😵💫😂
The show’s on again tomorrow if you fancy getting your paws on some of the best kitty treats out there 🐾
Sorry I’ll be late home for tea, I’m having a lovely Maisie cuddle 🥰
Ahhh, it was so lovely to hang out with these babies again yesterday evening 🥰
Messages like this are what it’s all about- being a safe and trusted person for your pets when you’re not there ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
There’s a first time for everything! My two week cat sit started with 3 kitties and ended with 6 🤭😻🥰
Today’s the day! It is now compulsory to have your cat microchipped - 10th June 2024.
You must make sure your cat is fitted with a microchip and registered on a UK database.
Your cat must be microchipped and registered by the time they’re 20 weeks old. This includes cats that usually only stay indoors.
Only cats in England need to be microchipped.
Microchipping is not compulsory for free living cats that live with little or no human interaction or dependency, such as farm, feral or community cats.
It has been compulsory to microchip dogs from 8 weeks old since 6th April 2016
What happens when your dog or cat is microchipped:
Your pet’s microchip contains a number, which will show up whenever your dog or cat is scanned.
You must make sure that your dog or cat is registered on one of the following databases (they all meet government standards):
* AnimalData
* Animal Microchips
* Animal Tracker
* Chipworks
* HomeAgain - free
* Identibase
* Lost Paws
* MicroChip Central
* MicroDogID (racing greyhounds only)
* My Animal Trace
* MyPet
* National Veterinary Data Service
* Pet Chip Register
* Pet Database
* Pet Identity UK
* Petlog
* PetScanner
* ProtectedPet
* SmartTrace
* Track Your Paws
* UK PETtrac MicroChip Database
* We Trace Pets
You’ll be asked for your address and contact details when you register your pet on one of these databases.
You can be fined up to £500 if your dog or cat is registered on a database that is not on the list. (Scam databases: Do not register on PetChips, PetDetails, All Paws or UKPetChipRegistry)
Updating your details:
You’re responsible for keeping your pet’s microchip information up to date, for example if you move house, or change your mobile number or email address. Everyone should double check!
Contact the database company your dog or cat is registered with to update any of your details.
You might be charged a fee for updating your pet’s microchip information.
Find out where your dog or cat is registered:
You can check the microchip number if you do not know which database your pet is registered on: https://www.homeagain.co.uk
If you do not have the microchip number, you can ask any of the following to scan your dog or cat for it:
* a vet
* a dog warden
* a rescue centre
Getting a dog or cat:
You should ask for proof a microchip has been fitted before getting a dog or cat.
You can ask to see any of the following as proof:
* microchip certificate
* vet records
* pet passport
You may also be able to see microchip information in the dog or cat’s pet insurance papers.
You must make sure your pet’s microchip details are updated.
If you miss the June deadline, the new law states you'll have 21 days to have your cat microchipped, or you may face a fine of up to £500.

“Thanks for sending someone round to give me my breakfast, Mum” said Toby earlier today 😋🐾
Regular pop in visits for little Dexter recently when his family all had to go away for the day ❤️🥎🐾
I love a little victory! It’s taken 8 days but these shy kitties felt able to come in and eat near me this evening. We even exchanged blinkies too! 🥰
Sniffing, snooping, exploring, playing, making friends, paws up!
A little bit of what I’ve been up to recently 🐾🌤️🥰
A pop in visit for this little button today- lucky me! 🥰
I’m back after a couple of weeks off and a lovely little trip to Greece, where I met all the cats! 🇬🇷☀️😍
I’ve got a stack of messages to get through, bear with me and I’ll get to yours as soon as I can 🐾
a month’s worth of kitty and house care 🐾🏡❤️
I made 47 visits over the last month to this gorgeous little lady ❤️
As well as twice daily food, fresh water and welfare checks we also had brush-ups, ping pong ball matches and sooo many cuddles! 🐾
I brought in post and parcels, managed bin days and unexpected milk and paper deliveries, watered plants and kept an eye on the property especially during Storm Arwen weekend. 🔐
My clients were kept up to date with photos and messages on WhatsApp and I freshened up the house, hoovered and turned up the heating before they came home 🏡
🐾
Always put a smile in your lead! 😃

Even when the day’s thrown you wind, rain, thunder, lightning, sunshine and hailstones 🙃😆
Attention cat owners! 🐱
From 10 June 2024 cats over 20 weeks old must be and registered on a compliant database 📆
By microchipping their cats, owners can increase the likelihood that they will be reunited with their beloved pet in the event that they go missing.
Woohoo it’s Spriiing!!! 🌤️🪺🌷🙃
I popped in to give the girls an hour in the garden this weekend, while their Mum had a long day stewarding at a horse event 🐾
Everything stops for cuddles! 🥰
Hey watcha doing Tiger? 🧡🤎🖤
🐾🐾🥰🐾🐾
Loooads of fun bonding with Buddy and learning how he likes to play 😃
Archie’s Mum and Dad went away for a family party this weekend and Archie stayed at home and was a silly sausage 🥰🐾
Don’t mind us we’re just having a little Dreamies party on the stairs 😋
Maggie explaining what happens next…when it’s walk time she waits by the door and gives me that faaace 🥹🥰🐾

So much love for Hagar 🧡🧡🧡 Gorgeous Hagar lost his kitty companion Knut just days before his Mum and Dad’s planned holiday, meaning that Hagar was home alone for the first time in over 10 years. Fortunately I was able to give regular visits to make sure Hagar was safe and well, and offer lots of reassuring fuss and head scratches. Most importantly Hagar got to stay in his own familiar space through such an unsettling time. I’m an experienced feline first aid trained crazy cat lady, and I’ve still got some spaces available for cat sitting this year- drop me a message to book! 🐾🐾
I’ve nipped up to my Mum’s in South Cumbria for the weekend and took her dog for a beach walk with a difference! ❄️⛄️❄️
For only the second time in 14 months I managed to get down the drive, round the back of the house, through the porch and open the kitchen door before 9 dogs realised I was there! Sooo proud 🥹🥷😂
Keeping busy on a rainy morning 💦 (little packages of chicken wrapped up and hidden all over the kitchen for Kara to find and enjoy breaking into 😄)
Sometimes a dog’s just gotta dog- I wonder what Bliss found at lunchtime that was so fascinating?! 🤩
Cats can have all sorts of water preferences- fountains, a particular glass- in Missy’s case it’s straight from the tap please! 💦🩵💦
We went for a short walk but it was already pretty warm by mid morning so we went back to Kara’s and played the game we’ve been inventing for months where I put pieces of ham in a cardboard box I’ve brought (I had a great big one today!) and then hide the box somewhere in her house or in the garden. To make it extra interesting Kara waits in the hallway so she can’t see where I’m putting the box (except I’ve realised she’s watching me through the little door window so I walk around a bit to throw her off!). Anyway, today the shed door was open so I put the box in there which we’ve never done before. She had fun finding it, dragging it onto the grass then ripping it up to get the ham out. This is Kara’s brain processing everything we’d done 🔉💤🤫
I got to hang out with this sweet little chap this afternoon. We’re going to be living together for a week later in the summer, so we’re getting to know each other now 🐾
