Mantrailing Liz is a fellow Level 2 Scent Imprint for Dogs Tracking/Trailing Instructor along with plenty of tracking and trailing experience.

Liz is also a Mantrailing Global instructor & assessor and has travelled all over the world for workshops to learn more about different methods of Mantrailing and Tracking/Trailing.

This week I’ve been away in Holland working hands on with dogs and Wesley completing Scent imprint for dogs Level 2 Tracking/Trailing instructor course.

I’ll always choose practical hands on courses where I can as nothing beats it!
The instant feedback, the real world training (reacting when things don’t go to plan) and ultimately you can’t beat that feeling of the line in your hand!

In my classes I put a huge emphasis on settle, I honestly think it’s an understated cue for dogs.

Raven has known how to settle since day 1 with me, meaning when needed she’ll quite happily offer this behaviour anywhere… such as yesterday when we decided to pop out for lunch!

Scent Detection Introduction Workshop!

This is the first step of your journey, this introductory workshop will cover the foundations of Scent Detection and get you and your dog started.
Your instructor is a fully accredited and experienced with over eight years of teaching.

There is no age limit, open to all breeds and no previous training is needed at all!

Dogs will be worked one at a time so reactive or nervous dogs are most welcome, this does mean that dogs need to be happy staying in their vehicles when it is not their turn.

More hard surface tracking/trailing for both Indie & Raven! Indie has really surprised me recently with how good she is at this, she’s not the most motivated dog however it’s all about finding the right reinforcements! Raven initially really struggled with hard surfaces but with more practice she’s getting the hang of it…

Raven just off for a swim 🤷🏻‍♂️ Had to call her back otherwise she’d have ended up on the other side 🤣

A bit of hard surface tracking for Indie! This is the first time Indie has done hard surface tracking, to make it “easier” for her you can see I’m using blue articles. Blue is a colour dogs can see easily and just helps her learn the benefits of finding the articles. Normally I’d have had food on them as well but the crows were waiting 🙄 Like most things with me, I spend a lot of time behind the scenes working on what I’m teaching, I’m a huge believer in practicing what I teach!

@pintheparkevents weekend was a HUGE success!! Over the weekend between myself and my amazing helpers we seen hundreds of owners and their amazing dogs, having a go at Scent Detection and learning all about the benefits! Such a variety of dogs from little ones to big ones and all ages from 11 week old puppies to 14+ year old dogs all having a go… Thanks to everyone who stopped by and chatted over the weekend! #pinthepark #pinthepark2024

So it begins… the refusal of leaving water!!

General training classes level 1 & 2 on Monday night. Some absolutely amazing work from everyone and so much trust and progress being made 🤩

We are getting there with Raven’s indication for tracking 🤩

It’s always a pleasure when I get other Mantrailing Instructors come along to have some fun with their dog. When I first met this chap he was regarding as the second dog and just “might as well work him” to now proving how good he is! All this is credit to Amy from @northumberlanddogsports for putting the time and work into him 👏👏
