Below is a bit more about me...

Having owned many rescue dogs in the last 15 years many with behavioural 'issues', I started learning more about why they are like this and more importantly how to help them.
​
I've now been working professionally with dogs for over 10 years, including throughout the UK and Internationally. During this time I have been actively involved in Scent sports both teach

ing or competing with my own dogs! Having spent over 10 years working hands-on in the rescue field, working in this sector allowed me to gain invaluable practical experience with all different breeds of dogs. Having owned and worked with rescue dogs for over a decade they are still a huge passion of mine and I wouldn't be here without them. I've run hundreds of training classes and workshops over the last ten years helping hundreds of owners and their dogs, specialising in dog-on-dog reactivity. Along with all this practical experience I also hold several diplomas in behaviour and training, this theory knowledge backs up the practical experience.

I choose to only use science-based training techniques and reward-based training. This means it is just as much fun for your dog as you!

Priority of Bookings!

You may see some sessions or workshop on my booking system and try and book… only to get stopped when it asks for a password, well this is because I’ve implemented a priority system for certain sessions/workshops.

1️⃣KMK9 members will always be the first to know and get first chance to book sessions/workshops.

2️⃣Newsletter email list is next on the list, this will still be password protected and only for the people on the mailing list… (you can sign up via my website, link in comments).

3️⃣Finally, open to the general public by me posting it on this page.

While I know this must be a little frustrating for some, I am rewarding my members and mailing list for their continued support.

Last weekend I held a little awards event for my members, it was an opportunity for me to reward and celebrate achievements made by teams over the last year.

As I said on the day “you are all winners and just because you didn’t get a trophy today doesn’t mean you are not winning!”

I’ve been super quiet on socials all this week… not because I’ve been up to anything exciting but I’ve got the flu 🤒

Battle of the Saints in Carlisle 23/24th November. This is a two day workshop with myself and Dawn Heaton from Preston Trick Dogs and is always a brilliant workshop. We also take you out for dinner as part of the workshop…

Price is £250 but handler open to offers due to short notice.

Mantrailing Mastery workshop with me at the end of the month (29th/30th/1st Dec). Full on three day workshop aimed at upskilling you as a team.
Different locations in the Scottish Borders.

Price is £300.

What does your cue mean to your dog? Here is an over 2 minute video (sped up to reduce the time) of Raven searching, all I asked was her search cue, no other context for her just “find it” so she started searching… Over a minute into the search I place her ball in the area so for well over a minute she was searching for effectively nothing. Why? Her cue means go search, so she did… would yours?

Settle! Why I keep talking about it! I’ve post many times about the benefits of teaching a settle and again this is another post to promote it! Cara can find it hard being around other dogs but learning to settle she’s able to come to classes and be around unknown dogs! Now not going to say that this would work for everyone but it certainly works for Cara!

More hard surface tracking/trailing for both Indie & Raven! Indie has really surprised me recently with how good she is at this, she’s not the most motivated dog however it’s all about finding the right reinforcements! Raven initially really struggled with hard surfaces but with more practice she’s getting the hang of it…

Raven just off for a swim 🤷🏻‍♂️ Had to call her back otherwise she’d have ended up on the other side 🤣
