Due to persistent non-attenders I will now be having to charge a cancellation fee as I'm trying to run a business this is my livelihood and after three non attendants I will then fill their space with someone else off the waiting list .All people all ready book in with lessons this will start from next week onwards any new clients this will start immediately .

I f****** love science.

"I don't bounce like I used to". How many times have you heard that or even said it yourself?

Well, I've looked at the science-ish behind the statement to see if it's true. With over 35 years of falling off I have collated all the information and come up with a formula to explain it all.

The bounce/ crumple theory.

Height of horse (hands) X Age of rider (years) = TOFTS index (Too Old For This S**t).

Any number over 550 on the TOFTS index will leave you limping and cursing your horse and reaching for the ibuprofen.

Obviously, this is for the average fall. There are several factors such as hard ground and excessive speed that increase the TOFTS index. The Gregg's Effect is particularly common. Too many trips to Gregg's will increase rider's mass and as we all know from Newton's second law is that mass X acceleration = force. To put it simply the more sausage rolls you eat the harder you're going to hit the ground.

From the chart you'll see that younger riders can fall off multiple times before it starts to hurt so if your horse is a bit of a wannabe rodeo star best get a youngster on it first.

I don't want to give my age away but currently on the look out for an 11.2 weight carrier.
