The end of fall is a great time to inspect your Purrfect Fence. Follow these regular maintenance and care tips to keep your fence in great working order and prevent winter snowfall damage! We recommend taking a walk around the perimeter of your fence and checking the mesh for any gaps that may have formed. As you walk, you may even give the mesh a tug to ensure all zip ties are still secure. Replace or add any zip ties as needed. If desired, you can also check each spring-loaded arm and lubricate the spring with a lanolin-based lubricant/corrosion inhibitor if needed.
Be sure to clear any leaves that may have gotten caught in the mesh (particularly for Existing Fence Conversion Systems) to prevent snow build-up through the winter. If you do not have access to the backside of your fence to complete this, then you may wait until the leaves dry out and use a leaf blower or you can bend down the tip of the arm in front of the fence in order to reach the leaves caught in the back. A helper can be useful for this option!
Lastly, check overhead for any branches that might have the potential to fall with heavy ice, snow, or winds. Be sure to remove any that might fall on your fence! When snow does start to fall, it typically will pass right through the mesh openings so long as they are clear. If you happen to notice snow build-up on top of the Purrfect Fence, simply tap or shake the fence to remove it.
