Just wanted to share this photo as a really important message - to NEVER let dogs play with each other while wearing collars!
You can see that Zippy’s jaw could easily slip under a collar if Honey was wearing one. Likewise Honey’s paw could go through a collar (especially if loose) as she puts her arm round Zippy’s neck.
It is absolutely not far fetched or a fluke accident! It does happen more than you would think, and I have seen it happen. Dogs get stuck together and if they panic or struggle to get loose or carry on playing etc they can break a jaw, neck or even suffocate.
As soon as the dogs arrive here we take their collar’s off. They only wear them out on walks when they don’t rough and tumble with each other. Please don’t let dogs play while wearing collars 🙏🏻
