It’s very confusing if you know what you are looking for, so most people get tricked into buying something they wouldn’t normally do.

Very upsetting to read pets foods are loaded with glyphosate and worst offender is grain-free dry food.

Good news is RAW FED DOGS have virtually no detectable traces of it.

What can you do to minimise exposure?

☠️DONT USE MONSANTO’s ROUNDUP in your house, garden, driveway or anywhere else!

🫘DONT use vegetable oil in your pet food🌽🫛 (Roundup is the most widespread herbicide used for commercial crops)

This is why Vegetarian, vegan or heavy carb diets are not healthy for dogs, cats or ferrets.
Hardly any Amylase to digest carbs, so they struggle to glean nutrition from food.

Protease, the protein digesting enzyme on the other hand, starts digesting food the moment it gets in their mouth, especially when they start crunching it.

That’s why when you feed smaller bones like poultry, they will be rubbery and flexible within couple of hours, and calcium dust when finished in carnivore belly.

Rapeseed yellow fields, beautiful to look at, but please don't let your dogs anywhere near them.
During rapeseed growing season, If your dog suffers with skin sensitivities, I suggest getting dog wipes and using them after every walk.
Rapeseed Pollen can cause skin reactions in very small amounts, so in case of sensitive skin, its best to reduce the exposure - dogs can lick they fur too, so its not just external exposure but internal one as well.

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called Rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!
Rapeseed can be dangerous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:
❌ Hemolytic Anemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

The World Small Animal Veterinary Association has produced a Position Statement, expressing its opposition to the physical alteration of an animal’s body for cosmetic or behavioural-control reasons. It also calls on veterinary teams to educate their clients regarding the harm that these procedures can cause and counsel them as to how to improve their animals’ welfare and living conditions.

I’ve had few friends and customers who were advised by their vets to feed carb loaded diet to pets with acute pancreatitis.
Please, please, please don’t do that till you read this - and show it to your vet to read too ( all references are listed, this is based purely on science!)

The biggest confusion comes from types of fat that can cause pancreatitis.

I’ve never heard of healthy dog to get it from RAW, unprocessed ( not-heated) animal origin fat.
Almost every case is dog eating cooked fats, I call them “human fats” or fats we use for cooking and eating our food. Mostly plant origin, mostly heated, oxygenated or rancid.

Once dogs recover from acute pancreatitis, it’s important to slowly start feeding ANIMAL ORIGIN fat again.
Dogs need 20-25% fat for healthy development, they are not like us!

Think we have all been "RED-PILLED" for years by clever advertisements of pet food manufacturers, backed by vigorous support of vets who prescribed and sold us the same food.

These lady's words will probably ring familiar with many of us...

It's never too late to wake up from dry food mirage and chose the fresh food nutrition.

Must be harder and harder to ignore influx of studies that prove fresh, raw food is healthier than dry/tinned/cooked food.

Imagine reversing this to humans and human food. Would you believe a doctor or food manufacturer who is claiming that highly processed, brown food is healthier than fresh food?!? 🥩🦴🐟

While I don't feel like I let them down per se (since I loved them so much!), but oh my, I never looked up in 40 years to see what I was putting in their bowls.

In any case, it's not too late for BUSTER, my latest friend. He's benefited from your life's work and I want you to know how grateful I am. Buster has been fresh (and now raw) fed since we adopted him at 11 weeks old. He came with a bag of kibble (this before I bought your book) and we couldn't believe how disinterested he was in eating. Now his coat gleams, he smells great, and he's just fantastic.

I'm wondering if you've any knowledge of non-profit organizations in the States dedicated to raw-feeding? I'm thinking about participating in one or starting my own. Something. I feel like I've been "red pilled" and there's no going back!"

What is ‘Silent pain?’ 🤔

Did you know that dogs are genetically predisposed to hide pain because in the wild, weakness or injury would make them vulnerable to predators.

According to some experts, more than half our dogs suffer from ‘silent pain’ that their owners are unaware of. Dogs will rarely vocalise even moderate pain and often just run through it and don’t show any signs.

Silent pain is difficult to diagnose as it is subtle and develops slowly over a long time and any slight changes in the dog are often just attributed to normal ageing.

Things to consider with your dog-

✳️ Dogs are very loyal animals - they will follow you for as long as they can- on walks, up the stairs, onto the bed, ignoring any pain because they want to be with you

✳️ When doing zoomies, playing, chasing squirrels etc your dog won’t feel pain as their endorphins (their powerful natural pain relieving hormone) will be at released - the pain will come later when the dog is home and resting.

✳️ Your dog will not, however, be able to make that connection between the earlier exercise and the pain they’re now experiencing due to the time delay so they will repeat it the next day and the next and so on…..

✳️ Ball orientated dogs will ignore pain and continue to chase the ball as long as you throw it for them until they tire

✳️ Over a period of time and as your dog ages, the joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons become less able to deal with these demands and that’s when injuries start to happen.

✳️ You may at this point start to notice some changes in your dog, they might start to move a little
differently or be less enthusiastic on walks but again, it might not be physical signs. Your dog may develop behavioural problems, become noise sensitive, nervous or agressive with other dogs or may just pant more or find it harder to settle.

✳️ So …..just because your dog can leap for the ball/ jump up and down off the bed/ do ten zoomie laps of the field etc doesn’t mean you should let them and it does NOT mean they are not in pain!
