I am always vocal about important role of hormones in any creature’s life and how to avoid removing them.
Too many vets suggest spay/neuter too early, or for conditions that may not even benefit by the procedure.
What we do know is that removing hormones has been PROVEN to cause too many health issues ranging from joint health to cancer and behavioural problems.

Free-range dogs from east European countries like Romania, Serbia, Bosnia or Monte Negro may not need ‘saving’ from their wild surroundings.
They live in packs or families and do what dogs naturally do, scavenge and hunt for food.

When taken from their lifestyle and family to be ‘rescued’ by the English family, many find transition hard and traumatic.

To make matters worse, paying ‘rescue fees’ which are equivalent of a month or two local wages to peope who live in poverty, seems to make problems worse rather then help out.

Marco Adda questions whether removing free-ranging dogs from human environs is truly better for the dogs and stresses the importance of their individual personalities.

Excellent advice about use of safe spaces especially over holidays. Dogs need a lot of uninterrupted sleep 💤, especially puppies. Lack of sleep can make dogs nervous, agitated, hyperactive and aggressive.
If they are sleep deprived, they may react to situations in a way to endanger themselves and family. So protect them by use of SAFE SPACES 🥰💚❤️‍🩹🐾🐶

Hello pomegranate!

The Forever Dog - "Pomegranate has been shown to help protect cells and, especially, the heart. Cardiac diseases are considered to be
the second-­ most-­ prevalent cause of death for dogs. Valvular endocardiosis and dilated cardiomyopathy are the most common of these and are known to be more prevalent in aged dogs.

Oxidative damage leading to cell death may constitute one of the most proximal of the cascade of events that results in heart failure. In a study published in the Journal of Applied Research in Veterinary Medicine, scientists found that feeding pomegranate extract to a dog has incredible protective heart and health benefits.

Pomegranates also contain molecules called “elligantans,” which our gut microbes convert to urolithin A. Urolithin A has been shown to regenerate mitochondria in worms­ increasing their life span by more than 45 percent. These encouraging results prompted scientists to test their findings in rodents, and the effects proved similar. Older mice showed signs of increased mitophagy (self-destruction of damaged mitochondria) and demonstrated better running endurance compared to the control group.

You’d be surprised how many dogs will eat these tart, crunchy little jewels mixed in with their food, about a teaspoon for every ten pounds."
