Dogs and jellyfish…… ouch!!!
Dogs like to explore however, it’s important to keep a close eye on them if jellyfish have been reported in the area. They often lurk in shallow water or washed up on the beach.

Signs of jellyfish stings in dogs
1. Vomiting
2. Excessive drooling
3. Swelling
4. Retching
5. Licking affected area
6. Difficulty breathing
7. Quiet and lethargic
8. Itching
9. Pain

If your dog is stung by a jellyfish pull the remaining tentacles off with a stick or towel but never rub them and be careful not to touch them with your hands. Never rub the injured area on your dog with sand and always clean it with sea water rather than fresh water
If you think your dog has been stung by a jellyfish, please call a vet for advice.

Dogs exposed to jellyfish take between two minutes and three hours for symptoms to show. The time to recovery ranged from two to 48 hours and all the dogs recover fully.

Dear Mum and Dad,

Let me stay home. It's too hot for me to walk and run next to you. But because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to.
And feel my paws burn.
I'm looking at you for a moment, but you do not understand. Because in a little over 5 minutes we're at the cool puddle, right? But those little 5 minutes
can be fatal to me. Because I sweat through my paws, and in this heat I just cannot get rid of the sweat. My whole body is boiling, but I keep going
And then I end up on the tarmac. In the heat and in the sun. With my tongue out of my mouth and my eyes flashing in the sun. My paws are burning, my
tongue is dry and my head is pounding in the heat that my body cannot get rid of…

Instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of cool water, somewhere in the shade. And best of all like in a cool area with grass.

Not sure what evidence is available here but worth bearing in mind.....

If you’re in Aldi and want to buy their new doggy ice cream for your dog as a treat, please reconsider. They contain palm oil which can be very harmful to dogs, and shouldn’t be on sale. Symptoms can include vomiting and diarrhoea and there have already been quite a few reports of poorly dogs because of this product.
