I am a Qualified, and insured Animal Physiotherapist, laser technician and Galen Canine Myotherapist. I combine all of these techniques to provide an outstanding service to my patients. I am an experienced canine therapist and have been working in animal rehabilitation since 2013, during this time I have worked at many clinics around the country with other professionals. I am now totally independ
ent and run my clinic at Ruffs Rehabilitation and Hydrotherapy Centre Great Yarmouth and in Weston Longville, Norwich. I am able to effectively work alongside your vet, keeping them up to date with progress and have good relationships with most practices in Norfolk and all major referral centers across the country. Main services I can offer -
Post surgery rehabilitation
Conservative management and rehabilitation of conditions where surgery isn't reccommended. (for example cruciate ligament partial rupture, IVDD where surgery isn't indicated or if patient is not suitable for surgery)
Management of chronic conditions such as osteo-arthritis
Laser therapy to aid healing and as part of a pain management plan
All of my treatments are tailored individually to your dog and your own circumstances. I am able to offer lifestyle advice, therapeutic exercise plans and am very compassionate in what can often be a very difficult time for guardians as well as our dogs. I try and step you though the process to make it as easy as possible. Galen Myotherapy is a specific complementary therapy specialising in the treatment of damaged or injured muscle and allied soft tissue. Muscle pain is underestimated and difficult to treat, we work using specialised knowledge and training specifically within this area.

I absolutely love laser therapy which I have been using for six years now! It helps to treat and manage so many chronic and acute conditions and is totally pain-free.
I love this, I talk often with my pet parents about the wellbeing of their dogs in recovery or when they have a chronic condition such as arthritis.
Emotional support comes with minimal risk of worsening the condition. It’s likely to be very cost-effective, and it will build the owner/caregiver-dog bond.
Just do it!
Providing emotional support can greatly enhance the well-being of dogs suffering from chronic pain and strengthen the unique connection you share with your dog.

Some pictures from today’s session with Olan! She’s an absolutely beautiful, retired, Greyhound, who is sadly quite stiff in her shoulder, thankfully she is much better already after a few sessions.
I now have a new treatment room at home, meaning I have more flexibility/availability including evenings and weekends in NR9.

2023 was amazing but sadly the rainbow 🌈 bridge took a few special dogs over the course of 2023. Over Christmas I have been thinking of them all & of course their loved ones who will be missing them.

Really enjoyed delivering 1 to 1 introduction to canine massage workshop to Arni & Jay-Jays pet mum today, brought for her as a Christmas present.
It was lovely to tailor it exactly to
her needs & focus on these to wonderful dogs.

What a year 2022 was! We laughed, cried and saw incredible progress against the odds!

It’s been a Feline day today! Two beautiful cats with arthritis treated & a visiting brother 💕 🐈
To all my wonderful pet mums & dads. My system sends out payment reminders weekly (Sundays). Please don’t worry if you get a reminder, everyone is wonderful & pays but if you have forgotten it’s no worries at all. I know some clients are waiting on insurance etc also.
However if you would find card payment or Apple Pay easier than online I do have the machine back . Just let me know what works I’m very flexible.

Beautiful Roxy! She was 112 in human years this week! She’s doing absolutely amazingly well & has regular maintenance sessions to keep her happy & mobile in her senior years 💕🐕🦺🐾 x
Incredible session with beautiful Jayne yesterday. Jayne is in her more senior years has arthritis, a slight neck tilt (due to other medical conditions) and global compensation as a result.
Jayne finds trusting visitors to the house difficult so I wasn’t sure how much hands on I would get during our first session - all sessions are all ‘choice led’ by the patient.
However Jayne was absolutely incredible!! After around 10 minutes of calmly chatting to her guardians we managed a full session in which she was happy & comfortable at all times!! So proud of her! Such an Incredible girl! 🐕🦺🐾 can’t wait for our next session!
(All sessions are carried out with consent from the patient’s veterinarian & a full medical history)
Sadly I see this condition allot, however I’ve had good outcomes in slowing the progression & maintaining quality of life for a longer than the prognosis.
Regular physio & laser can slow the degeneration of the spinal cord & maintain muscular health for longer.

Degenerative myelopathy (DM) is a slowly progressive neurological disease of the spine in dogs.
The spinal cord carries information from the brain, down the neck, along the back, to the limbs and tail, and then back up to the brain. As a dog’s spinal cord begins to deteriorate from DM, there is a reduction in nerve signals to the muscles in the hind limbs, typically causing hind limb weakness to be the first visible symptom. This process has been compared to ALS in humans, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
DM is a genetic condition, we usually see it in certain breeds, and it tends to be more prevalent in larger dogs, but it can affect a variety of breeds.

Kim and I are so proud of how well Lexi is dealing with her new wheels! Lexi has a neurological issue where surgery is not advised by her vet. Kim & I are working with Lexi to keep the cells functioning as much as possible to keep as much feeling as we can In the rear limbs. She has laser therapy to her spine and massage to relieve the compensation in her neck and other areas. She has land exercises to do every day and hydrotherapy with the fantastic Kim Ruffs Hydrotherapy, Rehabilitation & Fitness Centre We also support Lexi is owners throughout the whole process assisting with the environment at home. Also equipment such as the wheels/supports as this can often be a very worrying time for our pet parents. Lexi always has a smile on her face and it’s such a joy to work with. 🐾🐕🦺
