Today is so we wanted to share with you Mary's story (pictured below with owner Sophia PetStay Norfolk) 🤎🐶🐾🐾
It's a story worthy of a Hollywood Blockbuster - so settle in, and give it a read 👓......
"Mary first met Sophia 6 years ago. Sophia, who with all
her years as a Vet, at that point was fostering doggies.
Mary came to Sophia from terrible origins in Spain, was not house trained and did not know how to be around humans. She was a dog's dog, however, Sophia with all her years of experience, quickly realised that she was a special lady. This was also apparent as she had been the only one of all of Sophia's foster doggies who had engaged Sophia's lurcher, Seamus to play!
Her training went well, and she quickly learned how to be on a lead, and lie down, altogether calmer. At this point Mary was re-homed to a couple with an existing dog. Not realising how hard it was having 2 young dogs, especially walking said dogs, sadly, Mary returned to Sophia within a month.
After several months back with Sophia, Mary was re-homed to a couple with horses, an existing dog and lots of land for animals to roam free. Sophia had her apprehensions, knowing Mary and her independent personality, however as the re-homing was done by another service, this was taken of her hands.
During this period, Sophia successfully fostered several dogs, all to their happy, forever homes. Unfortunately, 8 months later Mary was back with Sophia, just as wild as when they first met, with the top of her tail missing, from one of her adventures. She had come to running off for long periods of time and now had a penchant for chasing sheep!
It was at this point Sophia knew that she could not watch Mary suffer any more, so Sophia adopted Mary full time! Sophia knew there was still work to do, Mary had become nervous around other dogs and had been unfortunately attacked a couple of times out of nowhere, so was now reactive to other dogs unless she had a parallel walk with them and realised they were not going to
hurt her. Unfortunately, Seamus (Sophia's Lurcher and Mary's best friend) sadly passed away, Mary then became very anxious, as she had never been an only dog. However, with lots of love, perseverance and a lot of training, work, and games, she is now a lovely, mostly relaxed dog.
I am sure at this point the credits would roll as we learn Mary has her happy ending! 🤎🐾🐾
