Had a great time at the BD Petplan Area Festival, Solihull with Julie& Dave's Revvy (ALIVE WIRE). He was super, and despite some tension which lost us marks his work was really brilliant.

I'm so impressed with him for holding his own at a Novice Area Festival amongst some really smart horses - especially as he's an ex racer & did his first wobbly dressage test at the end of August! I started BD with him in September & his progress has been brilliant and I can't thank Chris Pugh enough for bringing us both on so much in such a short space of time, and making me actually look forward to Dressage lessons and shows again!!

Thanks to Oak Saddlery as always for kitting me and Rev out head to toe and always being there to make sure everything fits perfectly & Rev has everything he needs to look & feel fabulous 💕

Julie & Dave Keates' lovely Alive Wire (Rev) did two super Novice tests at Field House Equestrian at the weekend.

Two good percentages & first points gained towards his Summer Regional Qualification at Novice Silver. He placed a very close 3rd overall and 1st in both of his sections.

The main aim of the show was as a valuable prep run for his Regional Final at ARENA UK SHOW Centre next week.

Rev is still young & learning all of the time. Medium paces are a work in progress, but he really is an incredible little racehorse & I can't believe how much he's developing.

Max & Mika enjoying the sun despite the cold weather today.

Had a really busy Christmas here with Natasha away in South Africa visiting family. Totally forgot to welcome in the New Year with a post.

We have a full yard coming into 2024, looking forward to the coming year with all our brilliant owners, staff, clients, suppliers & everyone who helps us in training these wonderful horses every day - it wouldn't be possible without the people who choose to support us.

The beautiful Oliver, my latest client booking for breaking in. He's a very quirky horse but I think he's just lovely 😍 2 weeks in and he's starting to really get the hang of what I'm asking of him. Bright future for him hopefully on the cards 🤞

Very happy with Julie and Dave Keates' Rev (Alive Wire) today at Hargate Equestrian Centre. First time doing two Novice tests & we got a PB of 68.23%!

Now he's qualified for Novice Silver Area Festival and Preliminary Silver Regional Final 🥲

What a good not-so-little racehorse he is, and especially considering it was FREEZING 🥶 🩵

As always so grateful to have the opportunity to ride & train such beautiful horses for their owners.

Rev clearly thinks it was all very hard work as he's in bed already!

Sad to wave 4 year old Poppy off today 🥲 a lovely mare who came to me as a feral 3yo from Ireland a year ago and has been a pleasure to produce for her owners.

She's had a varied education & will no doubt have a cracking future.

For me, it's time to crack on with the lovely bunch who'll be staying through the winter to be sold or competed next year ❄️

I have a rare space available now we have waved Pops off, so get in touch if you need a horse breaking, educating or selling.

Very pleased with our own LUCKY ALBERT & BRACKENMIX in their runs at Catton Hall.

Top 10 finish for BRACKENMIX despite having a few rails he had a 30 dressage and clear XC for his first run of the year to land him in 8th ✅

LUCKY ALBERT was his normal exuberant self to finish just outside of the top 10. Super clear XC which felt easy, 2 unlucky poles & an excitable dressage test.

Super first ever show for ROR 5 year old Alive Wire owned by Julie & Dave Keates. He won both of his Dressage Tests on over 69% and behaved impeccably. So excited for the future with Rev 💕

So lovely to see this video of our 4yo's belonging to Jamie & Sara Ellis. Poppy and Coco are enjoying their 'growing up' time after being backed & ridden away over last autumn & winter.

Unfortunately wound up in A&E last week, I wasn't doing anything exciting just bringing in from the field the morning we were going to Shelford Manor with Brackenmix & Lucky Albert. Broken cheek! But won't be off games for too long as not an unstable fracture & no surgery needed! Can't thank Team Brakewell, Samantha Smith, Tasha Arhainx and everyone around me enough for jumping in to help with the yard & just generally being amazing. Thank you 🙌

So ride. Ride like every time is the last time,like every canter, trot, walk, jump and halt is your last. Come home smiling from ear to ear, even if the ride didn’t go as planned. Give them a pat, a treat, a hug, a kiss. Tell them that they were amazing and you love them; even when it doesn’t go right, it may be the last time you get to dream of your goals on his back🐎
