My first 2 weeks with Bear Basics have been a blast! 🙌🏻

There’s been rain and lots of mud but you just can’t beat being outdoors doing such a rewarding job 🥰

I’ve loved every minute with the dogs, getting to know their individual needs and personalities. I’m excited to see how we progress together!🫶🏼🐻

Welcome Maisy!🐻

Maisy is currently having 1:1 sessions with Nick to work on reactivity to other dog’s. She’s a lovely girl who is a little wary of new people but she’s shown promising signs already just in her first walk.

We’re super excited to get started with Maisy and to eventually have her join group walk’s🫶🏼🐾

Meet our newest member of the team, Helen👋🏼

Having completed her training, we’re super excited to welcome Helen to join us at Bear Basics to take over the dog walking side of the business.

A little bit about Helen….

“Hi I’m Helen and I’m super excited to be working with Bear Basics Canine Academy to provide structured dog walks! I’ve always had an ambition to work with dogs so this is a dream come true for me. My 4 year old cockapoo Ruby is my best friend and inspiration. We love being outdoors going on adventures together. Having spent years training Ruby and more recently shadowing Nick, I am fully equipped to support the ongoing training needs of your dogs on solo and pack walks.”

Helen will be providing solo and group walks in the Wakefield area, the service is open to anyone but Bear Basics clients have priority.

She will be following all your existing training plans that you have in place with your dog and working on neutrality, calm and correct socialisation as well as exposure, and all the fun stuff too!

🌲Solo walks are £20.
🌲Group walks (max 4 dogs) are £15.

We always build 1:1 time into our structured group walks so I can work with each dog individually. Here’s the Monday group practising impulse control and sit stays whilst taking turns to show off their loose lead walking. As you can see it’s not perfect, think little Loki has ants in his pants, but I keep correcting him and put him back in position so he understands that he can’t get away with it. It’s a process and we will continue to work together… after all practice makes perfect! 🙌🏻
