🐾Five Week Scent Detection Course🐾

Start Date: Thursday 19th September.
Finish Date: Thursday 17th October.
Times: 8pm - 9pm.
Location: Willenhall Chart Centre Gromer Street, Willenhall, WV13 2NS.
Cost: £100

Suitable for all dogs, any age, any breed.

Come and join us for our five week Sniffer Dog/Scent Detection Course and unleash your dog's super power.

The course is held every Thursday evening from 8pm til 9pm over a five week period.

On week one we will provide you with your own RED KONG Portable Scent Kit for you to complete your homework, you will also receive dog treats and a course folder.

During the course we will train your dog to indicate on a specific scent from a line up of different objects as well as introduce them to outdoor searches and vehicle searches.

Mantrailing is a sport teaching dogs to find a hidden person by using their super power. All dog's have a natural ability to hunt and therefore Mantrailing provides them with an outlet to do this in a safe, controlled and constructive way.

Another great day at Willenhall Memorial Park introducing 3 new teams to the amazing world of Mantrailing and helping 2 teams progress in their Mantrailing journey.

All teams did really well dealing with distractions and longer, complicated trails. 🐾

Five new teams introduced to Mantrailing this evening.

We held our first Introduction to Mantrailing Course at Birmingham Dogs Home - Wolverhampton Centre everyone did amazingly well and had fun.

We donated £45 to Birmingham Dogs Home for allowing us to use their grounds and they have agreed to allow us to come back next month.

Being an Accredited Instructor with Mantrailing UK is probably the best thing I’ve ever done to enhance my dog training career.
I get to meet more people and work with more dogs. Plus I get my 5 minutes of fame 😂

🐾 Meet Darren, one of our Accredited Mantrailing Instructors!

Following the Instructors course earlier this year, Darren started up his own Mantrailing business 'Kilo Nine Mantrailing'.

As well as being an accredited instructor with us, Darren is also a certified dog trainer and canine nutrition and wellness expert. Before becoming an instructor with us, Darren's background was in military and security instruction and he was also a photographer for ‘Dogography’ and has had the pleasure of photographing thousands of dogs at fun dog shows, breed specific shows and Crufts trials held all over the United Kingdom. If you were lucky enough to catch it, he was even featured on BBC Radio Two back in March 2016 explaining specific dog behaviours!

A challenging venue with lots of distractions but the teams did well.

Walking trail layers, decoys, scent article starts and a few long trails.

Another great day Mantrailing at Moseley Old Hall - National Trust unfortunately the last for a while due to the school summer holidays.

Well done to the five teams who all did an amazing job working on new starts, longer trails and decoys.

A statement from Birmingham Dogs Home- Wolverhampton regarding the family fun day and dog show.

Wolverhampton Family Fun Day and Dog Show, Saturday 20th July - CANCELLED

We are very sorry to let you know we are cancelling our planned fundraising event this coming Saturday.

Regrettably we have had a recent case of parvovirus at our Wolverhampton centre. This is a contagious disease which can be very serious if dogs are unvaccinated.

Unfortunately the date of our planned event falls within the quarantine period and following veterinary guidance, we have made the decision to cancel the event on Saturday. Although the chance of infection is minimal, we want to ensure we are not putting our visitors or their pets at any risk.

We know you will be just as disappointed as we are, but we know you will understand that we must prioritise animal welfare ahead of our fundraising plans. We will miss seeing you all and catching up with our old and new friends (dogs and people!).

Running community fundraising events is really important for our charity to help fund our work, caring for local homeless dogs. We therefore hope to be able to arrange another similar event later this year, please keep an eye out on our social media channels.

Moseley Old Hall - National Trust is a beautiful venue for Mantrailing and is steeped in history.
