We’ve sadly had a bit of a day of it today!

Here are 3 polite reminders for you lovely people and your dogs.

1. Your booking starts on the hour. The field is booked for 50 mins. This allows for the first client (who may have reactive dogs) to vacate the premises before the next dogs / humans / cars enter.

If you arrive very early, please park down the road. If you're only a few minutes early, please wait in your car either outside the main gate, or in the carpark if necessary, so as not to block the road.

If the person before you has left on time, then you should be able to get straight into the carpark and field, on your booked hour.

This is how the F4P field works to ensure everyone has space, peace and quiet from other humans and dogs.

2. If you use other fields as well as F4P (and I’m glad there are other options to keep your dogs entertained) – please remember which one you have booked....

YES - it happened! Someone was in the field when one of our clients arrived today. Turns out that they had booked a different field….

Check your emails carefully. The field name is likely to be within the first line of the confirmation. It'll tell you where you should be, and when you should be there. Please ensure that you go to the right place!

3. And I'm sad that I need to remind people of this.

Please pick up after your dog(s). We provide poo bags and a bin. And field checkers most mornings.

I totally understand that one poo might get missed. But the field checkers job is to find the one you missed - NOT to completely clear up after your dogs. It's certainly not the job of the next client who comes in the field after you.

4. ADDITIONAL. Please continue to enjoy the space, respect the field, and keep sending the lovely photos of your dogs enjoying the freedom. 🐕

Recently, we had a photo shoot at F4P with the wonderful Lou, from Dommett Young Photography.

Today, we brought out the ‘big boys toys’ to cut the grass at the field! It’s taken a while to find the best solution – not just for now, but for ongoing maintenance. But now we have it! 🚜🚜🚜

The tractor has ‘topped’ the field all over, apart from around some of the equipment which couldn’t be moved.

One of our lovely clients has offered to help with strimming around the heavy equipment / sensory garden, and that will happen as soon as we can.

I had blanked out a few spaces tomorrow and Friday, as I wasn’t sure when the topping or strimming could be done. So those spaces have now been released for booking 😊

Please be aware that there is a lot of cut grass lying in the tree/sensory garden area.

Sorry about the quality of photos! I think I need a new phone, and a new pair of specs! 😂 But you get the idea!

Help or recommendations please! 🙂

Do we have anyone in our F4P group who is a gardener? Or anyone who knows a good local gardener?

To look after the sensory garden and Willow trees in return for free time at the field with their dog, and maybe a few beer tokens?!

A bit of strimming around the edges too, but mostly leaving the rest of the grass alone! 🙂

Deef absolutley hates being groomed at home, but being out in the open seems to make it all better 😍

It is Indie's 1st Birthday today! Everyone sing along... 🎶🎼

Indie was a lucky dog today! Her Mum had booked her 2 hours at F4P, and unbeknown to Indie, all her human and dog friends rocked up for the surprise party!

They had pressies, a cake (I'm assuming dog freindly due to the decorations!), and Indie had a snooze in the hay bales - much like I do after a good party! 😂😴

It's been a great week at F4P! So many great comments with photos emailed to me! Thank you to all who send the photos. I love them 😍

Just one problem to report, sadly.

The 'A frame', loved by many of the F4P regulars, has sadly been damaged.

It's not beyond repair, but I would have been grateful if I was informed so that it could be moved/fixed, rather than just left broken.

I'm fairly sure that this will have been caused by humans, not dogs.
It is (was) a very sturdy piece of equipment which I've used with many dogs, over many years!

So a quick reminder please, that the equipment at F4P is for dogs, not humans (however small or big!).

And regardless of how it got broken, please just let me know.

Don't get lulled into a false sense of security! Spaces often fill within 24 hours.

Yesterday there were several spaces to book this weekend.

Then all of a sudden, today was fully booked.

Now there are only 2 spaces left tomorrow (28th April) - 6pm and 7pm.

If you want to book weekend slots, I'd suggest booking a week ahead to make sure you get the day and time you would like! ☺️

***Swap Shop*** AND ***Charity donations***

In my other life (Abbey Dog Training), I work with an awful lot of dogs, and a lot are puppies who grow out of everything as soon as look at it! 🐶 🐕

So - I have set up a 'swap shop' for anything dog related (NOT just puppies) that is no longer required, which someone else could make use of.

And I'm now extending this to you lovely people ☺️

The idea is that you can bring anything you don't need, and if there is anything in the 'shop' that you can use, we do a swap.

I don't have a premises for the 'shop', but will happily arrange to meet you at the field on a day/time which is mutually convenient.

AND: Anything which is donated but hangs around for a few weeks, I will ensure it goes to an animal rescue centre or charity.
Or I may save it all up and then have a 'yard sale' and donate the money to charity. Anyway - those details TBC!

It seems like a bit of a win-win to me! Even if you don't get what you want from the 'shop' you will have donated to a good cause one way or another! ☺️

A blue and yellow ball has been lost in the field today. If you find it, please can you pop it in the lost property box?

If your dog accidentally takes anything home, and you find it later - no worries! 🐶🐾

We all want the same thing from the F4P field! And dogs will be dogs!

So dogs having fun, and the 'trust' we all ask for from both sides, are working very well for all of us at the moment!

It was mine and Teddy's turn to do 'field checks' this morning. We are very happy to report that the field was left as we'd like to find it - again!

This means that you guys are awesome, and the field checking that we put in place right at the start, most days by friends and family, is also working well 😀

So, what does all that actually mean to Teddy? Well, sometimes it means that he gets to have some fun as well as just field checks! 🐕💓

Believe it or not, Teddy used to be pretty good at Flyball! And although there were no tennis balls or Flyball machine, he seemed to still remember his 'striding' after the first bale 🥰

Ruth and Shadow are our regular Sunday morning field checkers. I've said before - we make every effort to get someone there most days (currently 6 days a week), to make sure that the field is in tip top condition for you guys. Anyway, here is a video of Shadow enjoying the new straw bales! 😍 And wow - just look at Shadow's tail if you're in any doubt about how much she enjoys being at the field, and having some quality time with Ruth. 🐕🐾

How wonderful is this? 😍 Thank you so much to Dita‘s owner Michaela, who messaged this video to me earlier, and gave permission to share here. I absolutely love this, thank you. If anyone else has videos or photos of their dogs enjoying the Fun4Paws field during our opening week, I’m sure we would all love to see them! 🐾🐕 And don’t forget the clocks change Saturday 30th March so from Sunday 31st March you will be able to enjoy the field in the evenings too. (7pm is the last slot, closing at 8pm).😎

Our first client. 7.00am today. This is Shadow 😍 Shadow can get a little worried about being around too many dogs/humans. She also loves playing around with 'stuff'! So F4P is just the perfect space for her. How many tricks could your dog do with that tractor tyre? Shadow got you started with "Hop through it!" 🐕 What else could you do?

Well, Teddy (my own dog) had a blast at the field today! He was so happy to have the place to himself! We had some absolutley wonderful quality fun and training time. It took a few attempts to get this video (bearing in mind I had no-one there to take it for me, and Ted hasn't used this equipment before!). One woman and her dog! There are several things you could do with the tyre mountain. This is just the most obvious one! For more inspiration, contact me, Rachel. :-)
