Westpoint Grandure
We had a good day at Coombelands today. Anne Nelson jumped a super round on Ashmolean to be placed 7th in the Discovery. They went on to jump an excellent round with just 4f in the Newcomers. I was delighted with Westpoint Grandure, she came 3rd in the Foxhunter, she has made a very smooth step up to this level 😍
Feeling tired but very positive on the ferry on the way home having had a super week jumping at Peelbergen in The Netherlands. We took Frances Davies’s Manorview Carrabeg Krooze for the 6 year olds Westpoint Grandure for the CSI* and Anne Nelson came for the CSVI with Ashmolean.
Krooze showed what a super young horse she is, this was her first stay away trip, first International and she took it all in her stride. She jumped a super double clear on day one, just had 4f on the second day and jumped a great double clear in the 6 year old final yesterday. Westpoint Grandure stepped up to the 1.20’s, I was pleased with her despite a couple of mistakes she jumped positive rounds with lots to build on.
Anne Nelson, had a super show with her home bred Ashmolean on their Veteran debut together. The Belgian team was short of a rider today so Anne stepped in as an adopted Belgian for the day to make the 4th team member. They had a wobbly first round but their super clear in the second round as anchor rider got the team into the jump off. Serge Galdini was nominated rider to jump off, he jumped a speedy clear to be just beaten by the Germans. It was a fantastic experience for all of us, great arenas and courses and super facilities for horses and riders.

Westpoint Grandure
Westpoint Grandure jumped a pleasing round in the Newcomers today at Coombelands to be placed 4th. Anne Nelson on Ashmolean and Z7 Calmini both jumped well in the 1.05m. Katie Davies and Krooze and Eloise Claire on Kizzie both went to the CT at Felbridge, it was Krooze’s first ever dressage test and Eloise and Kizzie’s first one together. They came 3rd and 1st respectively 👏👏👏Lovely to be outside, jumping in the sunshine 😎
Compilation video of Cara, the super young ISH that we are producing and Charlie Blake on Shamrock at the training at Felbridge this morning. Cara has a great attitude and natural rhythm and Charlie and Shamrock are developing a super partnership.

Mountview Karrabeg Krooze, looking very mature for her 4 years, jumping another double clear in the BN at Felbridge today. I am excited about her future 🦄🤩🦄
HFS Rusty
A very pleasing round on Oliva Taplin’s HFS Rusty to win the BN today at Felbridge
The talented 6 year old Japalino de Paep Z jumping a clear round on Saturday at Oliva in the 1.10m Bronze Tour. It’s such a good place for a young horse. He could jump 6 rounds in two of their 3 huge arenas over 2 weeks over uncomplicated, inviting courses, he learnt so much.
Kabo Verde
It’s good to be out jumping again, it feels like we’ve been in hibernation. We have got 2022 off to an excellent start at Felbridge today. I was deputising for Hannah Lipczynski as she was working. Both her horses were super, Cobras Jewel was 2nd in the 90cm and Kabo Verde was 4th in the 1m. I was thrilled with Westpoint Grandure, I just registered her and this was her first show. She was a little wobbly she has a super attitude though, she wants to jump and is very careful. She was double clear in the BN and is showing lots of promise.
I was very grateful to be teaching inside today, we had a super afternoon at Hascombe’s fantastic indoor arena. Undercover with a super surface and an excellent course of jumps. Well done to everyone that came, it was challenging to start with thinking and reacting quickly as it was first time indoors for almost everyone. All the horses jumped well and hopefully everyone has had a good preparation for jumping indoors this season.
Video of the lovely Poppy, who is looking for a five ⭐️ 🏡
Poppy is a 15.3hh, riding 5 year old, ISH brown mare. She has the most incredible temperament, nothing phases her, she’s kind and willing and really wants to please. She is responsive to ride and is in a snaffle bit for everything including cross country. Poppy has been lightly competed at unaffiliated show jumping and Hunter Trials and she’s straightforward to do everything with. She is very athletic and has 3 good paces and a careful bold jump. She is super to hack, clip, travel and for the farrier. She would be ideal for a lightweight adult or child coming off ponies aiming to do BE, BS or just have a super horse for next year.

Birmena jumping this morning in the individual European Championship final in Le Mans. Delighted to finish 8th. I am so proud of Birmena, she’s been brilliant, so gutsy and consistent, jumping clear 4 times over championship courses, just touching one rail down on the last day. It’s been an incredible week, being part of bronze medal GB team and then an individual placing. The team spirit has been brilliant and it’s been great to be part of it.
