Opening hours from September.

As previously mentioned I will be changing our opening hours from September. This is due to my little boy starting school, therefore I need to fit in with drop off and pick up times for him

*** Price increase 1st July***

I avoided putting our prices up in January this year (as I had on previous years) and was holding out as long as I could. However with my outgoings now increasing by on average 15-20% a month, I'm going to have to increase our prices, this will be between £3 - £5 per dog, depending on size, coat type and frequency of appointments.
Our prices still remain very competitive with groomers in the area.
The increase will be from 1st July, to give people as much notice as I can.

** Cancellations**
I kindly request at least 48 hours notice to cancel or change your appointment.
Any cancellations inside 24 hours, I will require a 50% payment.
For missed appointments with no notice of cancellation or less than 1 hour notice, I will require 100% of payment before your next appointment will be confirmed.
As a small buisness last minute cancellations or no shows can have a big impact.
I havent gone down the route of taking deposits like most groomers do, but it maybe somthing i'll look at for the future.

Opening hours
We've been asked a few times recently about what days/times we are open. These are our current hours.
From September they will change, due to my little one starting school, so will need to fit in with school hours on some days, i will confirm them once I know.

**Road Closures **
Please note over the next few weeks, there are various road closures on different days (not very helpful I know) near the Salon. I believe 09:30-15:30 and affects some of Padgate Lane and Orford Road. Please allow extra time if coming from those directions.

Today is our last day before we close for Christmas. So I would just like to thank everyone for keeping us extremely busy throughout the year, it's much appreciated.
I'll be off to put my feet up (well as much as I can with an excited 4 year old!) and maybe a glass or two of fizz.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas with family and friends and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.

** 2024 Saturday appointments **
From next year I will be reducing the amount of Saturday that we are open. For the past 8 years I've opened pretty much ever Saturday (with the exception of holidays).
With a young family its becoming more difficult to spend time together, currently we only getting one day a week when we can go out, do things all together, which doesn't feel right.
I will still be opening some Saturdays just not ever one. Can I ask that if you currently are a Saturday customer that you message me with if you still only able to do Saturdays or if you able to do weekdays. I'll then do my best to get everyone a slot that fits best, but it maybe a case that I cant accommodate everyone If all still need a Saturday. I'm giving as much notice as I can get sorted for next year, and appreciate your support. I'm sure you can understand that family is important and need that work/family life balance.

Just a little update on appointments etc.

I have a lovely lady joining me as a Grooming Assistant. Katie has completed her level 3 dog grooming and animal management at college a few years back, and keen to learn more. Some of you may recognise Katie, as she completed her work experience with us as part of her college and university courses. Katie will be initially helping with the preping, bathing and drying, while learning on the job to gain more experience with full grooms. I'm sure you will all welcome her in her new role.

We will be open 4 days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. This does mean I have less appointments than we had in previous years, therefore I am currently unable to take on any new clients for full grooms. Existing customers I'll try my best to keep you on your usual schedules, but please bear with me if I need to amend slightly.

** Important Please Read **

I'm sad to say, Tracey will be leaving us at the end of the year. Tracey has been with us for 6 years but due to personal reasons has had to make the tough decision to leave. I'm sure you will all join in me in wishing her well for the future.

What this means for the buisness.... Unfortunately from January I will need close on Wednesdays. I will be able to cover 4 days a week Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Unfortunately it is going to mean that I will have to cancel some bookings, all Wednesday bookings will need to be cancelled and some on other days. I of course I dont want to, but I physically cannot groom all the dogs on my own. Im hoping it wont be for too long as I will be recruiting a new groomer, but I dont how long it will take to find the right person.

I please ask that you are patient with me and can understand if I contact you to cancel. Hopefully it will only be for one or two appointments and then we can get you back it. I will give people as much notice as possible to enable you to find another groomer.

All December bookings will continue as planned.

** Appointments **

We have started booking all our regular customers, who have a set schedule/day (ie. every 8 weeks on a Tuesday) in for the rest of the year, as it's generally only 2 or 3 appointments. If we haven't already we will give you your next appointment card to cover until the end of the year on your next visit. This will enable us to see what appointments we have left for the customers who are more adhoc, and of course to get the Christmas bookings sorted. I know its July and 20 odd degrees but if we dont plan ahead it will be here before we know it. 🙈
