📣Friendly reminder, Garlic is not toxic!!⁠

In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, garlic is indicated for Food Stagnation, cancer, diabetes, and asthma. It is used to Warm the Middle and promote both digestion and healthy intestinal flora. Most commonly, garlic is used for natural prevention of parasites like fleas and ticks.⁠
⁠
Garlic can be beneficial for both dogs and cats in appropriate doses. I use fresh crushed cloves to get the full benefits of garlic. ⁠
🐱 For cats: 1/4 clove (crushed) daily, 3-4 days per week.⁠
🐶 For dogs: 1/2 clove (crushed) per 20 pounds of body weight daily, with a maximum of 3 cloves. Best to take at least 1 day per week off.⁠
*Please make sure to note the difference between a clove and a bulb/head of garlic.⁠

Not recommended for puppies and kittens. Long term use is contraindicated in pets with vision issues. If your pet has a history of hemolytic anemia, it would be safer to avoid use of garlic in any form.⁠

From October 1st 2018 the law regarding buying and selling of pets has changed.

🐾It is now illegal to sell puppies below 8 weeks of age.

🐾It is now LAW that prior to sale a breeder MUST show a puppy with its mother.

🐾ANYONE who breeds three or more litters per year MUST be LICENSED. This includes family pets having litters.

🐾The sale of a puppy must be completed in the presence of the purchaser at THE PREMISES where the dog has been kept for sale. This means it is ILLEGAL for a breeder to suggest meeting half way or delivering a puppy to a new owner. If a breeder suggests meeting at a convenient spot such as a lay-by this is now ILLEGAL and should be a inidicator to the the purchaser that all may not be as it should be.

If it doesn’t ‘feel right’ it probably isn’t.

Not wanting to scare anyone, this is rare. Knowledge is good though, right?

Symptoms are similar to Alabama Rot, which is also rare but more serious. Alabama Rot typically occurs from this time of year right through the winter. Also look out for lesions (look like sores) appearing anywhere on the dog.

🚑 For both of these conditions please seek urgent veterinary advice.

If someone walks up and touches your dog without Permission and the dog bites them, that is the persons fault, however in the eyes of the law your dog bit someone and your dog will get the blame. Remember that next time you take your fear reactive dog, who will bite if it’s personal space is invaded, without a muzzle.
Muzzles are there for your dogs safety.
*muzzles are to be used in conjunction with training and not a substitute for training.
