A lovely read for our incredibly hardworking team….. Thank You. ⬇️

“Just wanted to drop you a quick message to share with you how well Blue Dan has done since his soft pallet op. We have had a brilliant Autumn competing, including The Cotswold Cup, Berkeley, Beaufort and finishing with a win at the Cotswold Inter team chase. The Op has helped Danny both mentally and physically- I’ve seen a big difference.

Thank you, to you and your team for helping me to help him 😊🤍 “

Best wishes, Katherine & Danny. 🫶🏻

This week is the British Horse Society’s Dental Awareness Week! 🦷

The BHS provides information and resources on the signs of dental problems in horses and the importance of regular dental checks.👌

Horse owners and professionals can download a free digital awareness pack from the BHS website. ➡️ https://www.bhs.org.uk/horse-care-and-welfare/health-care-management/horse-health/teeth-and-equine-dentistry/

When did you last have your horse or ponies teeth checked? 🤔

We recommend having your equines teeth checked at least annually. However, it is worth remembering that older, younger and ones with a known defect should be checked more frequently. 🦷

As always please give our practice a call if you need any guidance and we will endeavour to help you ☎️ 01823 673215. 🙌

This dear little pony was relatively new to this yard and arrived being very ‘footy'. Given the breed and type of pony and the way the feet looked, it seemed sensible to X-ray his feet to see the extent of any chronic laminitis. The X-ray’s looked far from great, but luckily with the guidance from observing the X-ray’s appropriate trims were done. The video in the comments is this pony only a few days later, and without the need for any pain relief!

As many of you will already know the grass in Devon is very rich, which can bring problems to small ponies. Laminitis (outside of hospital/intensive care settings) is caused by high insulin. High insulin in the blood can be caused by overeating, and especially if there is an insulin regulation problem because of an underlying hormonal cause (like Equine Metabolic Syndrome and/or PPID). Collaboration between owners, farriers and vets is essential to help the horse/pony in the acute phase, and in the long run. 🙌

Good morning to all our followers! You may have noticed that we have been a little quiet on the social media front in the last few weeks, as a family run business, it is often a challenge to juggle everything. 🤯

We find ourselves at the start of another busy Monday morning, a good chance to share with you some recent updates and events. ⬇️

Firstly, we would like to welcome back Sanne, Sanne as many of you already know has been recovering from a hip replacement and is now back to her usual bubbly self. We would like to thank her clients who have been extremely patient whilst she has been recuperating.

We are also pleased to announce a new member to the team; we welcome new veterinary surgeon Zoe Pike BVSc MRCVS; Zoe has settled in well and has already established a good following amongst clients. 👏

The team has seen some early starts and long days in recent weeks, due to several in-house surgeries, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their commitment. Last week we had our VMD inspection which we were thrilled to pass with flying colours.🧑‍🎓✔️⭐️

Clients have also been busy competing in a number of different disciplines with great success, locally, nationally and internationally. For our clients’ international travels with horses means plenty of Export Health Certificates for our vets!

Congratulations to Lolly Meyer who this month came individually 12th at Ballindenisk Horse Trials 🇮🇪with her lovely horse Nellie. We have also had clients competing at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show, congratulations to Leslie Gundry who was a finalist in the Price Family Supreme In-Hand Championship. 👏

How did you get on this season? We’d love to see your pictures! Happy Monday everyone!

A lovely photo of Juliette Bostock competing in the 1.30 on her horse MAGIC EXPRESS W recently at Bolesworth International. Juliette has produced this horse herself and has been extremely patient in the last two years as ‘Romeo’ has been slightly accident prone!!🤕

Well done Juliette, Polly Gundry and to our top team for the part that they have played in this horses journey. We look forward to following more great results from this combination.👌🤩
