What a wonderful ending. This shows one reason why microchipping your pets is so important. 💕

After being missing for 11 years, Humbug the cat has been reunited with his grateful owner Kitty thanks to the team at Bedford Vets4Pets.

He disappeared in April 2012 and despite Kitty searching for him for more than a year, putting up posters and even offering a reward, was never found ... until he was brought into Vets for Pets to be checked after following someone for a couple of days. The team tracked Kitty down as her mobile number was on information found on Humbug's microchip. Kitty, who now lives in Basingstoke, said: "When I got the call I just couldn't believe it. I was totally shocked. It was my 35th birthday so finding out I'd got my Humbug back was the best present ever. No one knows where he's been all that time. He's way too friendly to have been living rough. He's lapping up all the attention at the moment." Nurse Hannah from the practice said: "We're so happy that we could have been a part of this story – all thanks to his microchip!"

On holiday it was so lovely to see the Animal welfare team out looking after and feeding all the local stray cats. They looked so healthy and really well cared for 💕
