Highlights of the past week 🍂
1. Sweet rescue Hera is already confident with all the dogs, incl lively bros Obi and Rigby
2. Misty will dunk herself at every opportunity
3. Lola Dalmatian is deaf in one ear thus always wary of her surroundings but she loves her walks with us
4. Little Bruce and big Marley bring out the best in each other - Bruce is feisty but small enough to not annoy anxious Marley
5. Wee hamster Nora is just so happy all the time and is learning about being a proper doggo on walks

New girl Hera is so gentle and sweet. She's a rescue Galgo from Spain. On-lead as she's a big flight risk and quite nervous as well. The gang were very kind with her and she loved sniffing everything. She even tried to join in the play ❤️

I'm so happy to introduce two more new additions: we have Nuala the baby Bracco Italiano pointer and Nora the mini dachshund. Both are the sweetest gentlest girls who I already see growing in confidence after just a couple of walks. Can't wait to watch them enjoy getting stuck in with my gang 🥰

Both cars were out of action yesterday so I had no choice but to work on foot. All went well, long sniffy lead walks are a nice change for the dogs and it was lovely to not have to drive but my poor feet are feeling it today 😅

Poor Pitta has a problem with his spine again. Two years after successful emergency surgery to fix an exploded disc, he's showing similar symptoms again. We're seeing North Downs neurologist tomorrow so fingers crossed it can be sorted without another procedure. Till it's better it's strong painkillers and a frustrating confinement to harness and lead for the goofy bouncy one 😔

We have the cutest, super fun new boy - little Erki, who's a speedy rocket. Loves a chase, and a cuddle and was off the lead first walk as he's very smart and has amazing recall. I took Pitta to his house for our leisurely meet and greet; a friendly face makes a big difference to a dog settling and bonding with me in the early days.

Lead-free Lola with the gang!

Happy days! Lola the Dalmatian is off the lead on a group walk. This is a very big deal: young Lola is extremely attached to her owners and has displayed a lot of anxious behaviour, eg pulling to get home, not engaging with the other dogs - a serious flight risk. She's also totally deaf in one ear, like many Dalmatians. Today I had a hunch that the time was right, she was engaged and confident enough, and so it proved. Go Lola! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
