The cost of kitting out your child or children ready for the new school year can be a real worry but there is help available 🏫🙏

The Uniform Exchange (Somerset & North Somerset) is a private Facebook group where you can request or offer uniforms for free to other parents and carers. A quick search and you'll find it or use this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/theuniformexchange/?ref=share

You can also check other local buy, sell, swap websites or pages for second-hand school uniforms.

Most schools will have a uniform exchange so if you’re worrying about uniform costs, chat to your school and the PTA to see what help they can offer you.

If you’ve got uniforms that your children have grown out of but are still in good condition, please consider donating or exchanging them to help other families 🙏

Timings and Activities for our Open Day on Sunday 18th August 🦅

👋 10.30am - Doors open

🦉10.30am-12pm - Owl Handling - (flying arena) - Handle some of our beautiful owls yourself

🐾11am - Meerkat feed & talk - (Meerkat enclosure) - Meet our mischievous meerkat mob and learn some incredible facts about them and their wild cousins - keep an eye out for our adorable baby meerkats too!

👨🏻‍🔬11.30am - Join Professor P. for an interesting and entertaining look inside our owl pellets with this dissection and talk

🦝12pm - Raccoon feed & talk - (Raccoon enclosure) - Padme and Luke our adorable raccoons have the biggest personalities and some incredible superpowers. Join us for this feed and talk to learn more!

🦊12.30pm - Fox feed & talk - (Red fox enclosure) - Our foxes are a firm favourite with visitors and during this session you’ll see why

🦅1pm - Bird of Prey Flying - (flying arena) - Watch some of our team take to the air and learn a bit about them and wild raptors

🐾2pm - Meet the Ferrets - (flying arena) - Meet our cuddly ferrets and learn more about them whilst giving them a little stroke. Our newest (and super adorable!) baby will also be out to say hello

🦥2.30pm - Binturong feed & talk - (Binturong enclosure) - Meet our newest resident in the centre; Balu the Binturong! Find out more about these unusual and endangered animals

🐍2.30pm-3.30pm - Reptile Encounters - (flying arena) - Meet & hold some of our resident reptiles and mini-beasts

🦴3.30pm - Vulture feed & talk - (vulture aviary) - love them or hate them, vultures are one of the most important animals on the planet. Join us and our vultures, Bones & Reaper, to find out more

🌻👩‍🌾 SUNFLOWER FIELD:
Due to the cold, wet spring it’s been a difficult growing season for sunflowers this year. We promise the sunflowers are still beautiful but it’s not quite the luscious sea of yellow flowers like years prior (that’s farming for you!) Even though it was a tough growing season, we’re really pleased to be able to open the farm to all of our lovely visitors and we hope these flowers bring some joy and sunshine to your day! ☀️
