Side eye at its finest 👀 🐴

Here’s Rennie you’ve seen in a previous post.

He had some back issues that I worked through to get him back into the swing of things.

Sometimes our horses just need a good once over to release some tension built up over time.

I recommend to a massage treatment quarterly (every 3 months) to avoid any injuries, to keep the muscle subtle and most importantly increase your horses well-being and performance 🎭

🐶 Did you know Mondays: Align edition

Did you know that Dogs have around 700 muscles, which make up about 45% of their body weight.

Muscles act as levers on our dogs bones allowing them to move. 😱

Now imagine … 💭💭💭

If your dogs muscles are all built up with tension and tightness how are they meant to perform at their best?

Is your horse acting out of character?

If so read Rennie’s story…

Rennie wasn’t acting his usual self when out hacking recently and his owner thought that maybe his back was sore; and she was right. ✅

Where Rennie’s saddle was sitting was where the muscle was extremely tight. So when Rennie was trotting up or cantering this was pinching resulting him in bucking and displaying behaviour that was unusual to his usual character.

After some thorough work in this area and hindquarter releases the area felt so much loser. A day later Rennie went for a longish walk in hand and his owner said he felt much more relaxed than a few weeks ago.

Amazing for Rennie, hopefully he can just continue his routine checks!

Always get your saddles checked and most certainly keep your horse’s backs subtle 🐎.

Did you know the horses don’t release tension on their own?

What they do is completely protect it and block it out.

So a very old injury could be presenting as a new injury. Then you question well how long has this been going on for?, what caused this? And how can I fix it?

You can release/fix this by bringing his or hers attention to it and using massage therapy techniques to work it out leaving them feeling fabulous💫🤩

It takes a hot minute to gain trust but as you can see it was certainly gained 🥰💫

Meet Esme the Springer spaniel 🐶

Esme was presenting some weakness/tenderness in her hindquarters so it was definitely up for investigation.

After a lot of fuss, head massaging and words of reassurance she let me take a look.

It seemed all around her glute area was tight and full of tension so with some specific techniques and movements we released this for her and as you can see in the very last picture above she was totally zoned out by the end.

What a relief for Esme! 🤩

🐎 Did you know Mondays: Align edition 🐎

Did you know that the Skin is the largest and heaviest organ in the horse’s body 😱

Directly underneath the skin there is superficial fascia which in some places more than others has direct connections to the rest of the fascia system deeper within the horses body.

This is one reason why simple skin movement and basic myofascial release techniques can be so effective with horses.

What breed of dog do you have?🐶

We have Lola our Old English bulldog ❤️

A dog that’s renowned for carrying alot of muscle mass 💪

This girly has a lot of muscle to maintain and most importantly to keep subtle. So she gets her fair share of therapy.

It’s so very important that our animals have muscles to support their bones and joints but at the same time it’s so important that those muscles are kept healthy and free of tension.

When the thought of a serious problem becomes a minor one 🐶🥳🍂🎃

Here’s Buddy an exceptional Halloween model 🎃 🐕

Earlier last week buddy was lame in his right front foot. I went through a checklist of things I could have been but none were adding up to what buddy was presenting to his owners. So with rest and some good ol TLC we waited out until I could visit.

When doing buddy’s body scan I found a sore on his pad and this must of been it for sure, the limping, behaving normally, eating and drinking well just didn’t strike something real serious.

So tip to take here always keep your doggies paws hydrated. You can do this with dog balm or even Vaseline. This will prevent them from cracking and getting sores.
