🐾 Even Beagles can do physiotherapy! 🐾🐶💪🏻

Canine physiotherapy is a powerful tool to help dogs build strength, improve balance, and regain mobility. Through exercise prescription, we can focus on muscle strengthening, enhance proprioception (body awareness), and support core stability—key elements that help dogs move better and reduce the risk of injury.

Whether it’s recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition like arthritis, or simply improving overall fitness, these targeted exercises can make a real difference in your dog’s quality of life.

Physiotherapy isn’t just about recovery—it’s about helping dogs live more comfortably and with greater freedom of movement.🐾

🐾 Canine Iliopsoas Injury: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment 🐾

The iliopsoas muscle group is essential for your dog’s hip movement, helping them walk, run, and jump with ease. When strained, this muscle can cause pain, limping, and difficulty moving. 🐕

👉 Why does iliopsoas strain happen?
Iliopsoas injuries often result from overexertion, sudden movements, or repetitive stress, like jumping or sprinting. However, they can also develop as a secondary issue due to underlying hip or stifle (knee) problems. When a dog compensates for pain or weakness in these joints, it can put extra strain on the iliopsoas muscles, leading to injury.

🔧 How physiotherapy helps:
Physiotherapy plays a vital role in recovery and includes:
• Stretching & strengthening exercises to improve muscle flexibility and support
• Manual therapy to reduce muscle tightness and improve joint mobility
• Photobiomodulation (PBM), or light therapy, helps accelerate tissue healing and reduce inflammation
• Ultrasound therapy increases circulation, promotes deep tissue healing, and relaxes tense muscles

These treatments help relieve pain, enhance recovery, and prevent the injury from recurring—getting your dog back to their best self sooner!

If your dog shows signs of limping or stiffness, or has a history of hip or knee problems, physiotherapy can be key in preventing further complications. 🐶❤️

🎄 Christmas has come early at Faye’s 4 Paws Physio! 🎄

I’m excited to announce the arrival of my brand-new laser therapy system! ✨🐾

How does laser therapy work?
Laser therapy uses focused light to pe*****te deep into tissues, stimulating healing at the cellular level. It boosts circulation, reduces inflammation, and speeds up tissue repair — all without the need for invasive procedures.

The benefits of laser therapy include:
✅ Pain relief – Great for arthritis, injuries, and inflammation.
✅ Faster healing – Helps speed up recovery from surgery or trauma.
✅ Reduced inflammation – Ideal for managing swelling, especially in chronic conditions.
✅ Improved mobility – Eases discomfort in joints and muscles, so your pet can move freely again.

If your pet could use some extra care and comfort this Christmas, book a session today and let laser therapy work its magic! 🎁🐶🐱

🐾 Dolly’s Story 🐾

Meet Dolly, a 10.5-year-old Cocker Spaniel. From a young age, Dolly faced challenges—diagnosed with hip dysplasia and needing knee surgery for a slipping patella. As she got older, elbow dysplasia joined the mix. Despite the hurdles, she powered through and continued her agility career, showing incredible resilience. 💪

But more recently, things took a turn. CT scans revealed severe arthritis in her hips and elbows, and there was a time when even a 10-minute walk caused her excruciating pain, despite multiple painkillers. We honestly feared we’d never see the same lively, happy dog again. 😢

Fast forward six months… After undergoing Stem Cell therapy, intensive physiotherapy, and making some home modifications, Dolly is back! She’s back to her normal exercise routine (with a little extra support on an extendable lead), down to just one painkiller, and still occasionally visiting her agility friends for some on-lead fun. 🐾✨

We are beyond thrilled to have our happy, healthy pup back—and we truly believe that with the right care and treatment, golden oldies can thrive again! If you have a senior dog struggling with arthritis, please reach out. I would love to help! 💖

Exciting News! 🎉🐾🐾
I'm thrilled to introduce Faye's 4 Paws Animal Physiotherapy, a new venture I'm launching alongside my career as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN). After 18+ years of experience in practice—10 of which have been spent working with orthopaedic patients—I wanted to extend my care into the recovery process for animals.

As part of my journey, I also completed an Advanced Nursing Diploma in Surgery, Anaesthesia, and Radiography, which has further fueled my passion for orthopaedic care. Combining my skills and love for rehabilitation, Faye's 4 Paws will offer tailored physiotherapy to support pets' recovery and improve their quality of life after surgery or injury. 🐾

I'm excited to help your pets feel better, move better, and live better! Keep an eye out for more updates, and feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.

🐾 Dolly’s Monthly Massage! 🐾

This is Dolly – a sweet senior pup who gets a monthly massage to help with her osteoarthritis. As she gets older, those joints start to feel the wear and tear, but her massages help keep her comfy and moving around with more ease.

Why Dolly loves her massage sessions:

🐶 Less Pain – It helps ease the stiffness and discomfort that comes with arthritis.
🐕 More Mobility – After each session, Dolly moves more freely and happily.
🧘‍♀️ Relaxation – Massage isn’t just about the relaxing muscles – it helps her feel calm and relaxed too.
❤️ Better Circulation – It helps get the blood flowing to her joints and muscles, reducing swelling and inflammation.

Massage is one of those things that can make a world of difference for older dogs or dogs with arthritis. If your dog could use some extra TLC, feel free to reach out! I’d love to help them feel their best. 💙
