This is Pepe, my new employee (aka a rescued budgie from work) who is going to be involved in some product design and testing for some avian appropriate products to keep him busy while we find him a colleague (aka new best buddy) 💙

We are running a raffle this week to raise money for ❤

Good morning!

It has been a busy spell at work hence being quite quiet on here, however I have still been working away on lots of cage accessories for your little furry friends 🥰
We are also going to be running a few give aways and raffles soon so watch this space!

🌳Good morning! I have added some more wooden items to the website today, along with tubes, nets, cocoons and hanging baskets🌳
Due to the time to make all of these items I am only able to upload a limited amount each time but I am aiming to keep up with monthly updates and put dates out ahead of time 🥰

New colour cocoon 🤎 I have just added a few more of these Coffee colour cocoons to the website which are great for the naturalistic look!
I have also added on several more of my other colours so there is hopefully something for all your ratties favourite colours!
I recommend hand washing cocoons in warm water or putting them in a pillow case if going on a gentle cool machine wash for extra protection. Then it's just a case of allowing them to airdry and stretching them back to shape! 🤎

A good day for some wood scrubbing! 🌳
It's not the most glamorous set up but not a bad view, especially when I'm supervised by Solo in the background!
All the wood I use to make the cage accessories is from our own field, it is cut and dried for several months, hand scrubbed so it's as clean as possible, and then assembled and edges sanded ready for your little friends to have some fun with!
The wood I'm cleaning today will be ready for the next website restock on the 13th May at 10am 🥰

I am running a raffle this month to help raise money for the charity we are currently supporting which is 🤍
The prize is worth £37 and contains several handmade goodies:

Good morning!! I will be uploading all these cocoon colours in both Large and medium sizes to my website this morning at 10am!! There are also more nets and a few wooden cage accessories too 🥰
I'm sorry for having to move back the upload from the start of the month it's been a busy few weeks! But hopefully I will be able to settle into a more regular routine of uploads soon!
Please note there are some scheduled Royal mail strikes over the next few months. I will aim to post orders ASAP as always but please be aware there may be delays.

Our charity we are supporting for the next few months is Staffordshire Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue 🐰🐹, we have adopted some lovely little guinea pigs from this amazing rescue so are wanting to do some more to support them! We will continue to be donating £1 from every order and will hopefully have some other fundraisers soon!🥰

🤎 Hello all! 🤎
It has been a long time since I have been on this account, however, I am very pleased to announce that rustic ratties will be back up and running very soon!!
I am really excited to say I have finished my studies and am now a fully qualified veterinary surgeon! I will be starting fulltime work soon, however I am determined to keep Rustic Ratties going as I absolutely love making toys for your furry friends!
This will mean there will be a few changes to how I am able to run the business, primarily being that I will aim to have more consistent, but more spaced-out uploads of stock to my website. I will post updates in the meantime while I am figuring out the best times for uploads
I am currently starting to build up some stock for your ratties and other fluffs, and will hopefully have some stock ready for an upload towards the end of the month/start of September!

Thank you for all the responses to my story the other week regarding small Animal charities! There were some fab suggestions and I am hopeful to be able to support as many of them as I can over the coming year!
For the next couple of months I have decided to support Burrowed Hearts Animal Rescue, and as part of our fundraising we are running a raffle!🤍
There are 2 prizes,
A rat size prize worth £50 includes:
- 1 x Medium Mojito Cocoon
- 1 x Medium hanging tube
- 1 x Wooden Hawthorn perch
- 1 x Tote bag
A Mouse/Hamster size prize worth £36 includes:
- 1 x Mouse size Terracotta cocoon
- 1 x Small hanging tube

Happy new year!! Just a little update from me, and my supervisor (who insisted on being featured in the post)! I will be doing a smallish upload tomorrow just before I head back to uni 😊
Although I will be pretty busy this next term I'm determined to keep making toys for your rattos and other small fluffs whenever possible! This just means I may have slightly smaller/less regular uploads for a little while 🤍
