We are fast approaching the festive season 🎄 and for this, our busiest time of the year!

I ask for any of you that have appointments booked in from now until Christmas Eve, can you please let me know ASAP if you need to cancel/reschedule so I can offer them out 😊

I have no availability for the remainder of the year, so for those who are enquiring, I can offer January spaces or I have created a cancellation list which people are already on and waiting 😊

Okay, so I really dont like writing these kind of posts, but I have felt the need to again after this morning.

It does really upset me when I get comments made towards my business, almost feeling like it is trying to be de-valued. Comments such as ‘I thought you’d be cheaper than a salon’, ‘you’ve got no overheads’, ‘you’re using peoples electricity’ and a few more to name.

Please respect the fact that I am trying to run a small, independent, one woman show business.

My prices reflect more than just grooming a dog. You’re paying for:

• Years of knowledge at a degree level
• Years of experience working with animals
• Trained skills
• Professional, caring, 1-1 service
• My hours within your home
• Top quality products being used
• Conveniency

And there’s probably a few more to list! Yes I understand that my prices may be outside of people’s budgets and I can completely understand and empathise with this, however comments do not need to be made if this is case.

My pricing reflects my work I deliver but also my time which I lose from travelling to and from clients. I can’t physically groom as many dogs as a salon as it needs to be factored that I travel between clients from all around the area, setting up and packing down my equipment and also generally having a good chit chat with my clients… because that’s the service I provide!

I also am aware that yes I’m within peoples houses, using their facilities… this cost is absolutely minimal! But again I understand that it is not for everybody.

Please also respect that yes I may not have the same overheads as a salon, but I still have things to pay for… my biggest one being my car and the petrol to run the car. Without this I can’t physically run my business! Like everyone else, I have bills to pay for, a family to help provide for, insurances, maintenance of equipment and grooming supplies.

This is not what I wanted to post, but I feel the need to have to justify myself again as I’m going through the viscous cycle of people commenting on my prices. Please be kind and respectful of what I’m trying to do as I have worked so hard to get to where I am today. I genuinely love doing what I do, but I too am just trying to make a living like everybody else. So please be kind.
