IT'S SHOW WEEK!

This week is the Royal Highland Show , beginning on Thursday & the North Country Cheviot Park classes commence at 9am.

Today we will preview both judges, starting with our Park judge for 2023.

James Mackay, Biggins

James’s Biggins flock based in Caithness needs no introduction, a keen showman he has produced many champions over the years and has always enjoyed attending the Royal Highland Show, meeting friends old and new. The flock dates back to 1928 and has been breeding sheep to the highest standard ever since, highlights would include showing at The Royal Highland Show, a ewe with her pair of lambs shown in their individual classes and being awarded third place with the ewe and first place with both the ewe and tup lambs, a memorable day indeed.
James feels being asked to judge the Royal Highland Show for the 3nd time (1st time being in 1982 and the 2nd time in 2000), is truly an honour and is looking forward to seeing the sheep brought out for him to judge.
When judging he particularly looks for a sheep with breed character, standing well on their legs looking the part on the day!
