Choice, compassion and consent 🐾🐾 giving puppy Daisy the choice to get on and off the table when she wants to creates a trusting and safe mindset for her 🐾🐾 Daisy would not get on the table initially as she found the whole experience overwhelming and obviously all new!! She's doing so well!! 🐾🐾 Lots of praise and positive reinforcement 🐾🐾 Well done Daisy ❤️❤️

🐾🐾 By far thee most important part of the grooming process - the bonding process. This is crucial to Wren feeling safe and trusting in her environment and outweighs anything else 🐾🐾

6 month old Daisy just being a puppy and loving life 🤣🤣🙏❤️ It's important to let puppies explore and figure out the world whilst feeling safe and secure ❤️ Just a bath today with Daisy and some desensitisation with treats alongside the hairdryer working on the floor and leaving the door open giving her the 'choice' to come in and out 🙏 Just watch till the end 🤣

Play is such an integral part of a dogs general health and well being, even within the grooming aspect ❤️ it helps build trust, confidence and enrichment. Lovely Wren ❤️

This is what it's all about, desensitisation and treats so that Poppy can feel as relaxed as possibly can be ❤️❤️🐾🐾

Enrichment for Nala as she's not a fan of the dryer 🐶 by utilising high value treats she is distracted by the sound of the dryer therefore in preparation to associate the dryer with a positive experience ❤️🐶

Aaaaanndd relax Poppy 🥰🥰❤️

Poppy has been with me for over 2 years now and when she first came she wouldn't let me near any of her paws, let alone her front ones ❤️ As in the video she is still uncomfortable with her back paws which is fine. The purpose of this video is to show you that it takes time, baby steps and patience to move forward with Poppy. My reaction to her back paws is crucial as she needs to feel protected and safe ( and definitely not scolded) when she reacts as there are underlying reasons she is not comfortable with her paws ❤️ Great progress Poppy ❤️
