Something new for September!

I’m running some social walks for dogs and owners to get together and walk, talk and socialise with like minded folk and their dogs.

All dogs will be kept on lead and space respected so a great, gentle way to socialise those pooches whilst doing the same yourself. Great for those who would like company, no pressure, no judgement and I’ll happily share my knowledge and discuss anything dog related. Two minds are better than 1.

First date- 29th September, 9:30am

Duration- approx 1hr 45mins (6km ish)

Where- Yearsley Woods

Cost- £10 per person.

Booking required, please message me 🙃

Nervous dogs/ excitable dogs welcome but those who are very reactive or aggressive are not suited.

It’s been a hot minute since I last posted! No pun intended….. 🤣

Have a few quiet days due to the heat after a very busy month I actually have time!

What better, conveniently relevant subject shall I waffle on about this time, I know……. Safety!

Anyone that has had the pleasure of having a conversation with me for longer than 3 seconds will know just how passionate I am about dogs, welfare and keeping them safe (what a bore!😂)

To keep all these wonderful doggos safe this week I have so far cancelled all walks. It is far too hot for most to be out galavanting and those that can manage, certainly don’t want to. You can tell so quickly from their behaviour that it’s not enjoyable for them, so why do it?
I’ve seen first hand the devastation heat stroke, amongst other things, can cause in dogs thanks to my time in the veterinary industry. It’s awful.

🐾Walk at cooler times of the day- early morning/ late evening.
🐾Keep walks short and low energy.
🐾 Stay off tarmac/ concrete.
🐾Find shady areas and utilise them.
🐾Ensure there is always access to fresh water.
🐾If in doubt, don’t do it. Some dogs/ breeds cope better than others, so know your dog’s limitations.

🚨‼️ If you think your dog is suffering from heat stroke, contact your vets straight away. They will advise you what to do next.‼️🚨

A shady pit stop with my Sunday guys. A very slow pace and lots of breaks to ensure we arnt getting too warm. Just happen to be sat here thinking how lucky we are to have use of this space! 😍

Last night I had an impromptu sleepover with Franky and Freddy. A last minute request that I obviously didn’t mind complying with! I mean who would mind chilling out with these little legends. I love them! 😍

I can say though that I’m really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight though. It’s been a while! 😂

🌟Worried about your dog and rapeseed?🌟

At this time of year, we start to notice lots of posts circulating social media regarding rapeseed; these posts are shared extensively and can understandably worry many dog owners. The posts usually state that rapeseed is highly poisonous to dogs, and can cause signs including haemolytic anaemia, blindness, damaged nervous system, digestive disorders and breathing problems.

These posts are misinformation.

The signs mentioned are typically only seen in grazing animals, and most dogs actually remain asymptomatic after exposure to rapeseed. Dogs can develop gastrointestinal upset if they have ingested some of the plant, and there have been reports of skin reactions which resemble burns, but this is extremely rare and does not happen to every dog which comes into contact with it.

This week’s house sits have been sooo much fun.

🐾First half of the week I was with Ted & Bets. It’s like my second home now 😂

🐾Then we had Franky and Freddy for the first time. My pals at looked after the boys during the day and I had the pleasure of snuggling up with them of a night time.

Happy Easter!

Only 2 days late, but I actually had some time off!

I spent my Easter as pictured below. How glamorous, but I wouldnt have had it any other way 😍

Even outside of work I do a fantastic job of surrounding myself with 4 legged friends 🤣
