Today we were honoured to attend a memorial service in memory of PD Zyla from Leicestershire Police who sadly died in the line of duty detaining a suspect wanted for attempted murder on 3rd July 2024. PD Zyla showed extraordinary bravery and an unwavering commitment to protect her handler, so it felt only fitting to award PD Zyla the Thin Blue Paw Outstanding Bravery Award, received by her handler, and half brother PD Nash. Stand down PD Zyla, gone but never forgotten. 🌈🇬🇧💙🐶

Great work boys on fire 🔥

PD Nash and dad were on 🔥 last night….

The first incident was a report of males chasing people and threatening them with baseball bats and causing damage. Two suspects had been sighted entering a park in the city. PD Nash and handler have then entered the park after the suspects and Nash has used his powers of persuasion to detain the males who have then surrendered. 🙊 PD Nash has then been tasked to conduct a property search for any discarded weapons and has located a baseball bat hidden amongst the stinging nettles. Two males arrested on suspicion of Affray and Possession of Offensive weapon. 👊🏼

Later in the night, the duo were off again and got sent to a report of suspicious males in balaclavas checking car doors on a residential street. On the arrival of PD Nash, the males have run off. 🏃‍♂️ PD Nash then tracked from where the males were last seen, eventually locating two males hiding in bushes. 🌳 One male found to be in possession of stolen property.

That’s two more arrested on suspicion of theft!

What a night 😴😴 Well done team.

Great job PD Jura 💙💙👏😍

A busy and successful night for PD Jura this evening.

Firstly Jura and chauffeur went looking for a stolen vehicle which had been sighted in Leicester. The vehicle unknowingly pulled up next to them at a set of lights and after a few right and left turns realised they had company and made off at speed. Despite this with the help of our RPU and ARV colleagues the vehicle was quickly abandoned with occupants running off. PD Jura arrived and quickly located one during a game of hide and seek.
Stolen car recovered and one arrested. 👏

Later in the shift a cloned lorry was followed from a neighbouring force area and this FTS . Following great work from RPU, ARV and NPAS.
Jura was able to detain the two occupants who decided they didn't want to wait around.
Lorry recovered and two arrested. 👏

Pd Nash who loves his job 👏👏💙🥰

Last night PD Nash and handler attended a report of a burglary but the suspects were long gone when they arrived. Fast forward a few hours ⏰ and the suspects have returned. This time, PD Nash has been joined by ARV officers who have disturbed the suspects trying to break in!

One suspect was detained by ARV officers whilst the second suspect has run off into woodland. 🌳

NPO officers have put on a good containment allowing PD Nash to search the woodland locating the suspect hiding in the undergrowth!

Excellent team work from TDFU and NPO officers resulting in 2 arrested for Burglary 💪🚔

Just before the end of today's early shift PD Jura was called to assist locate a high risk missing person.

Information was received that the person had a rope and was going to harm themselves. The persons vehicle was located by an RPU mobile on the edge of an isolated area of woodlands and fields. It was getting dark and very foggy so it became time critical to locate the person.

On arrival tracking initially proved unlikely due to members of the public walking dogs nearby. However this didn't stop PD Jura who picked up a track and led his handler down a overgrown pathway into woodland for quite some distance before locating the person high up in a tree.

Once joined by other officers they managed to talk the person down to get the help they required. 👏

PD Jura 😍🦈⭐️

This afternoon PD Jura assisted in the City with a male who had ran from officers. 👮

Luckily PD Jura was only a few minutes away and began a search of the surrounding area. Within a few minutes of searching the male was sighted garden hopping and eventually ended up in a garden very close to PD Jura.

The male decided not to stop despite seeing 👮 🐶 and carried on garden hopping and was quickly detained by PD Jura 🦈

The male was wanted for stalking offences and recall to prison 👏
