Monkey is now looking for her new home. She is a 15hh 4 year old bay Thoroughbred mare who has never raced but has been in training. She arrived late last summer and has done some schooling then had a winter break to allow her to grow and mature.

Monkey is most suited to light hacking. Being young she isn’t suitable for a novice and isn’t available as a broodmare. She would love a home that want to hack 2/3 times a week, maybe help babysitting youngsters, but loved and cared for in a settled routine. She is available for a nominal fee to an approved home.

Royal Agent is a very sweet 16hh 5 year old mare who finished racing last summer.

She has been given time to settle into her new life and is now schooling nicely and has been introduced to small jumps and poles which she is really enjoying.

Royal Agent (Aggie) is available to the right person at a nominal fee but is not to be sold as a broodmare or as a project for quick sale. Homes will be vetted.

Retraining racehorses is one of the most rewarding jobs we do. 5 year old Froggy had her first trip away from home yesterday and she was brilliant. She has taken to jumping in such amazing fashion and never says ‘no’.

Help wanted

We are looking for some help, possibly two different roles.

Monday/Tuesday, Saturday or Sunday mornings for general yard duties. Experienced person to help turn out, muck out, lunge if experienced. Approx 3-4 hours per morning.

Poo picking - 1-2 hours, 3 times per week for paddock poo picking.

As it’s National Racehorse Week we thought this special girl deserved a mention!Froggy has been here approx 7 weeks having spent 3 years running on the flat.

She is a gorgeous 5 year old with such a sweet nature. She was sent to us to retrain on the hope she may become someone’s’ hack or fun allrounder but she has exceeded all expectations so far and deserves a person to continue her education with the aim to be a lovely competition prospect.

She moves well, loves to learn but above all has the most incredible jumping ability. Bold, brave and super careful and very clever with her feet. Do you know anyone who may not have a big budget wants one of the coolest thoroughbreds around who is eligible for RoR classes.

So many lovely horses and ponies are now here at Wick Farm including these two gorgeous girls that are lovely RoR projects.

Froggy only raced a number of weeks ago and her lovely owner has decided after a few seasons racing that she deserves a new career and is here for retraining. She has the loveliest brain and has a very grown up attitude for her 5 years.

Monkey is only 3 and has been given the time she needs to see what her future is. She is RoR eligible but has never raced. A really sweet girl who takes every day in her stride and is another one to fit into our relaxed environment.

We are a small yard with year round turnout, arena with floodlights and lovely liveries.

We also have the opportunity for temporary grass livery for 3-4 months in a separate, large paddock.
