🐶🐾DOG SKIN FACTS 🐾🐶

🔸 Dog skin is THINNER than human skin. The epidermis of a dog is 3-5 cells thick, while a human epidermis is 10-15 cells thick.

🔸Dog skin pH levels are more neutral than human pH levels. This makes them more irritated by human shampoo, so always try to use dog shampoo!

🔸 Dogs can become more itchy when the temperature changes. For example, when we put the heating on in the winter, a dogs skin dries out quicker leading to itchy, dry skin just like us.
Like we put on hand creme or lip balm, a regular condition of a dog's coat can help.

🔸 Regular brushing helps spread their natural protective oils through their coat and helps increase blood flow and circulation.

🔸 It's a myth that you shouldn't wash your dog too often. When using dog shampoo, it is perfectly safe for their skin to give them a bath regularly. Imagine if YOU don't wash your hair for months, you'd be itchy to!

"I'm in emergency accommodation and can't have my dogs with me. It's been so difficult."

We never want anyone to feel bad about bringing their dogs for a groom, whatever the issue.
Life is hard, and our dogs bring us unbelievable comfort (I know mine do 🥰).
We love a chat, and run in the same league as taxi drivers and hairdressers, you can tell us anything. We don't judge 🤫💕 xx

As alot of you know, we have been through a rather stressful time the last few months. We have had to move to a location that isn't ideal to get get to but we are not planning on being there forever!
Hopefully in a few months, we will be located in Verwood, and it will be much easier (and less bumpy 🙈) getting to us.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has stuck with us during this time. It means more to us than just work, it's been keeping us sane the last few months! 🤣

We are working as fast as we can to get our new location up and running 🤞###

Just a head up 😊
From the 17th of April, the road from Verwood to Three Legged Cross will be closed (again 🤷) for about a week, so if you and your dogs live in Verwood you will unfortunately have a large diversion. So have a think about booking in either before or after this time, unless you don't mind a countryside drive 🤣
I think they plan to reopen the road on the 23rd.

HEATWAVE 🔥🌞

There is now a ⚠️ WEATHER WARNING ⚠️ for extreme heat for most of next week.

It is so important to keep your dogs cool and know the signs of heatstroke.

Keeping cool:
- Constant supply of cool water
- Regularly hose down patio areas
- Pools or Cool mats
- Place damp towels where your dog lays down
- Place frozen water bottles in their beds
- Walks in the evening or early morning (avoiding tarmac)
- Stay home. Don't take dogs out in cars unless necessary.
- Wet down your dogs paws.

Stay safe with you dogs 🥰 it is very tempting to go on days out with your pets now the sun is here, but the journey could be too much for them at the moment ### 🐕🐾
